The HESI Exit Exam

What an awesome awesome set of friends I have here at DWT. Ray, you can appreciate my anxiety right now. Unfortunately, the Medical University of Ohio doesn't offer a practice HESI. You either pass or you don't....so you either get your degree or you don't. That's what makes this all so frightening.

How long after you take the exam will you learn the results? Don't even think of keeping us in suspense with pictures and details! We wouldn't be able to read all those medical terms used in the questions anyway.

Well I take the exam on the 18th from 2:30 to 5:30pm. I should have my results by 6pm that night.

To fill in the week till Natalie PASSES (because we all know she will) her HESI exam, I think we should decide what the acronym stands for. I'm sure we could come up with some much better ideas than the the real thing.

Hi, Natalie! I'm new to the forums and kind of learning my way around, and found your thread. My husband is just starting the long path to nursing school, so I'm learning a lot about the profession and the critical need for nurses. Thank you so much! There have been days where I've definitely questioned myself on the choice to be a nurse. Unfortunately, nursing is still a very stereotyped profession (I get people who ask if I change bed pans and give baths for a living) and most people still think of nursing as a woman's job. I think it's great that your husband is pursuing a career in nursing! We know everything the doctors know...we just can't do the surgeries and write the scripts. It's hard hard work. Tell him to stick with it. He won't be disappointed.

Lucky for me, I have a great online support system I hope you find DWT to be as much of a haven as I do!

PS...HESI stands for Health Education Systems Inc., the name of the company that specializes in custom tests for nursing schools. Boring. But by all means, continue the acronym name. It's great!
