Hello all!
I'm still not home yet, but I do have good news.
My parish, which was supposed to be under 20 feet of water, actually had no flooding. My neighborhood was fine and from what I hear, my house is fine, though I haven't seen it yet. There is still no power, food, or sewage, so we're not going home yet (we're looking at possibly this weekend).
Unfortunately, my school (about 40 miles west of my home) suffered serious damage, as did the city around it. I don't know when I'll be able to go back to school, but my professors have said that we will have online classes. This is still a stressful time for everyone, but it's a huge relief knowing that when I finally do go back home, I will have a house with very little or no damage.
