Prayers for Floods in N. IL and IN

This has been a difficult weekend throughout our country. Here in Northern Illinois areas have been hit by an unrelenting rain. 6" to 12" of rain in very short order. Most of these areas are not in a flood plain, just and enormous amount of rain. My little Hamlet was hit incredibly hard. We are pretty fortunate, soggy. My neighbors and friends not so fortunate. I cannot get East of here completely to reach my parents who are near O'Hare, but they are at least safe. Most of these people not being in flood plains will loose everything as insurance does not cover rain/flooding. Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.

Prayers and pixie dust headed up. That is really awful Gabe. And all of the emergency resources are stretched so thin after two massive hurricanes, I hope everyone is safe and that they all get whatever help they need.

I am embarrassed to say that I hadn't heard about the flooding in N. IL till I saw it here. The local news seems to be just concerned with TX. Hope there is still help available from outside IL to assist in the clean-up.

it's pretty bad here. a ton of people with flooded basements and alot of strreet closings still.

P & P for everyone. We need some too. My house isn't flooded but streets and whole neighborhoods are completely flooded.

Oh my goodness Adam, I need to alter the title of this thread for Indiana too.
I saw Crown Point and Merrillville on the news this morning. You guys got hit hard yesterday also.

Like others have said, there has been virtually no mention of anywhere other than Houston and Galveston on the news. I hope that they get assistance to your areas soon!
