Ultimate Park "Hopper"
They made it back to Bangkok safe and sound on Monday. All Nippon Airlines has a daily flight to Tokyo now. DS said they might get a flight on Thursday, but more likely Friday or Saturday. Once they get to Tokyo they still have to get a flight to Chicago. So, still don't know when they will be back home.
Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers.

Thank goodness! After they are home safe and sound, hugs and kisses are distributed, their next vacation should be to the World Showcase, and if they need to cross some water they can stay at Boardwalk or Y&B. Seriously relieved to hear they are out of harms way.

The kids just emailed and said the earliest they can get a flight out to Tokyo is Monday the 8th, but don't count on it. The Thai government is putting them up in a Holiday Inn. That is little consolation considering the ineptness of the Thai goverment in dealing with the protestors that caused this situation. They were supposed to be home yesterday. While other countries have evacuated, or are in the process to evacuate their citizens, the US is doing nothing but saying not to travel to Thailand.

The kids made it home safe and sound late Saturday afternoon. It took 40 hours to get home as the 5 hour layover in Tokyo turned out to be 12 as they had to wait for the plane from Chicago to get there, as the plane in Tokyo was grounded with mechanical problems. So, it was a 4 day ordeal they hope never to repeat. However, after all they went thru they want to return to Bangkok someday as the sights, sounds, and smells were overwhelming and the people of Thailand were the friendliest they have encountered in all their world travels. -30-

I'm so glad to hear they made it back safe and sound. They certainly are brave to consider returning one day. I think that type of experience would deter me from going back.
