Great news Gae!
Prayers for a great report from the doctor in Lubbock. Peace and prayers with you and your family.
Heard it was a no go for tomorrow. What is plan B for the doc's now Gae?
I'm guessing you have to take her back? How has she been doing?
What a day yesterday! We got up to Lubbock and went to the office that will be opened beginning next week. But we were there earlier enough that it wasn't that big of a deal. We got to the other office just fine and discovered our appointment was for next week. Once I got back to the office, I found the paper and yes- it said the 21st. Oops. But they were nice and got us in fairly quickly.
We go in and start the paper work and guess what! The doctor had to go perform emergency surgery on some poor child (this child has a history of brain tumors and then fell off of a horse- he needed the doctor more than we did). But he said to come back around 2 and maybe he would be able to see us then. We got back and no- he was still in surgery.
So the plan is to wait for a call from the nurse to see if they can get us in on Monday or Wednesday of next week. At least they are being nice enough. Especially since I have the proof that I was the one who screwed up. But honestly, I am not really sure what day it is today. The past month has been a blur!
The saga continues! :dizzy::)
Over all, she is about the same. She still has issues with balance, feels dizzy, and gets headaches. Some things she just isn't sure about memory wise. She hasn't gotten worse but she really hasn't gotten any better than last week. Slow recovery.
Well, waiting is no fun and you certainly want answers, but the poor horse kid did need help. Maybe next weeks appointment will go off without hitches and you will be able to find out exactly what is going on.
Prayers continuing for a full recovery and an actual answer.
We are have another appointment on Monday at 2 p.m.!
We went to the Dr. today. The good news is that she does not need a neurosurgeon. He did have her do many different things to see how she walked and some other reflex things. He said that while it was good the MRI of the brain was clear, there is something else wrong but that we needed to work through each of the tests to rule out various things and try to figure out exactly what is wrong. I really liked this guy. He was really good and took his time and asked us a lot of questions.
So on Friday, DD will be going with me to Lubbock for some tests. Before we leave town, we will call the dr. and see what to do next. He will also be in contact with the pediatric neurologists there to see when we might can get in to see them. At least we have someone looking at her and figuring out what to do next!
Continuing prayers for you all Gae!
Oh Gae, I feel your pain. Sounds like you hit on a good Doc with a caring attitude, seems to be a rare find these day. Hope it goes well Friday and hopefully they'll find the cause soon. Poor little thing.
It's so good to hear you are finally getting help and hopefully answers! You and your family have been & will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. :)
Different doctors are interesting. THe neurosurgeon thought that something neurological might be there but the neurologist thought that it might just be post concussion syndrome. So we did a sleep deprivation EEG to see what the brain was doing while stressed. Luckily that came back normally. So one more MRI to see what all is going on with the neck and spine- just in case. Then we should get an all clear but it will take a while to get over some of this.
I'm glad your getting some answers Gae. That's the best thing! I hope the tests continue to be clear of any issues!
Thanks a lot! It is nice to get positive answers!
