Prayers & Pixie Dust for SnwhtNdwrfs' Daughter & Family

Well I'm sure a lot of you know via facebook, but Gae has been updating her status while they are at the hospital waiting on results from her daughter's CT scan. Apparently her daughter had a seizure at around 2pm and they are waiting for results.

I've texted Gae and she said that her daughter is okay right now and that she has pain meds so that's good. She is resting.

There was nothing on the CT scan that they found so far, and they are probably going to be in the hospital for tonight at least.

Just wanted to send prayers & pixie dust their way!!!

Thank you so much for this thread. It really means a lot to me.

DD was in choir on the top riser. She remembers singing some sight words, then waking up on the floor in her Choir teacher's lap. There was a shell behind her that helped her from going directly back which is probably a good thing. Anyway, by the time the choir teacher got behind the risers, DD was having a very violent seizure on the floor. I was called and she had regained consciousness by the time I got there. Paramedics were called and we went to the hospital.

Slow moving in the ER but she didn't have any more seizures. X-ray looked good as did the CT scan but she was in a lot of pain so they were concerned as to what happened as she fell- they are not sure how she fell since she hasn't bruised any. (Head, neck, shoulder pain).

When the trauma doctor finally got to speaking to us, we had a choice of waiting until the morning to speak to a neurologist. Since she is 15, she might be considered a pediatric patient or the neurologist might consider her an adult. If she is considered an adult, then there is a strong possibility of being treated here either inpatient or outpatient. But if not, we will have to go to the nearest children's hospital 2.5 hours away.

Good news- CT, EKG, X-Rays look good. They are watching her glucose levels since it may be what caused the seizure to begin with (just one of the theories). Bad news- pain is pretty bad and we won't know until later today about what the plan is....and this chair is very uncomfortable!

So keep us in your prayers and thoughts. They are greatly appreciated. I will try to keep everyone updated as it is possible. Thank you again to this great family!

Many thoughts and prayers to you, your family and specifically your DD. I hope the doctors can find out soon what happened because having been through a similar experience with my oldest, the fear of the unkown is huge in times like these. Hope & Pray everything continues to go well for you.

Also extra pixie dust for the hospital chair. You would think as many people use those for extended times, they could find a more comfortable alternative.
