This has not been a good year!
Didn't think I'd be back so soon asking for support, but my Mother is in the hospital in North Carolina, and it doesn't look good. It appeared she had some sort of massive stroke this morning and fainted. She's 81 and not expected to recover.
I will always treasure the one time we got to take my Mother with us to WDW about five years ago to celebrate my birthday. Even though we had a lot of health problems to overcome, it was a wonderful trip and she seemed to enjoy it very much! I never really got the chance to tell her how much we appreciated her. Like John Mayer says in one of his songs, "say what you gotta say," to your loved ones before it's too late.
We would appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Thank you!

P & PD headed your way James
Re: This has not been a good year!
Yeah, seriously. My thoughts are with you.
I lost my dad earlier this year, a couple of days after Easter and exactly one week after his 67th birthday. Shocked that my 90-year-old grandmother pulled through the news and is somehow still kicking around.
Never happy to hear someone's parent is hospitalized, especially after all I've gone through since January 31st when they first admitted my dad.
Good luck to you and your family!

My husband and I along with our children will keep you and your family in our prayers along with prayers for your mother.
We all have times when difficulties arise in our lives. What is most important is dealing with the hard times, coping with the changes and getting through to the other side where the sun is still shining for you and your family.
It takes a strong person to deal with tough times and difficult choices. But you are a strong person. It takes courage. But you possess the inner courage to see you through.
Take care to see that you don't lose sight of the one thing that is constant, beautiful and true - that you love your mother and she loves all of you in your family.
Beginning today and lasting a lifetime through hang in there, and don't be afraid to feel like the morning sun is shing just for you.

Re: This has not been a good year!
Thanks so much for the kind words and thoughts. They are more appreciated than you'll ever know!
My mom, Ruby Dezern Roddy, 81 will be buried in Franklinville, NC next to my dad tomorrow, July 14, 2010. She lived a long full life raising five boys in Virginia before returning 'home.' We weren't exactly a Disney family, but the seed was sown with those Sunday nights sitting around the TV listening to 'Uncle Walt.'
She always seemed to quietly deal with some sort of health problem, but we take comfort knowing she is in a much better place.
Thanks again!

Buried with your dad, together forever.

I am so sorry for your loss James, I've lost both my parents as well and I know how difficult it can be. Remember the good times and keep them alive with stories and pictures for the next generation.:grouphug:
