As long as it stays a tropical storm, or a Cat1, the'll be fine. It's moving quickly as well. Passed over my old hometown yesterday and is completely out of the area.
Keeping my fingers crossed for your friends.

Living in Hurricane Alley isn't for the weak of heart. And at this time of year it isn't a whole lot of fun.
We'll gladly accept whatever rain we can get. We've had next to none over the last three months, combined with 30+ days of triple digit temps.
To illustrate how bad it is, the trees are already going into hibernation purely as a defense mechanism. Yes, we have Fall colors right now.
As I take my pup for a walk leaves are crunching under my feet, more crackly than the normal fall leaves. I've been watering our trees on our property all summer and still the 4 story one is dropping leaves.
But for selfish reasons I hope the rain stays away or if it must, like 9pm to 9am. I can dream. The forecast looks worse this morning than yesterday.
Raining pretty heavily here in Jeff City. Looked at the radar and the storm is still amazingly well defined for being so far inland.
But yeah, half of my not-so-small back yard is covered with Sycamore leaves. I've never witnessed anything quite like this before.
Very odd to have lived in Florida for 32 years but have to say this is the hottest and most brutal Summer I've ever been through...
