At my school we do this program called Best Pals, its a very selective program and out of 200 people who filled and application out I was one of the 20 people who made it in, we are the pals and we get assigned to a best who is "special needs" i also do special olympics basketball to help with them, these kids are truely kind at heart but they just dont know how to express it they want to do everything that we do but they dont or have trouble doing it i work in the adaptive physical education part of it and its amazing to see how happy my best is when he for say gets a ball in a bin and when i see him in the hall and say hi to him his face lights up, please send your prayers and pixie dust to these "special" kids, maybe someday everyone will realize how much like us they really are, they are more like us then different from us.
Indeed. Proud of you being so caring. My DD has been a Special Olympic Buddy. Her best friend throughout elementary school was always in a wheelchair. My DD always chose her Birthday party event to be something where her BFF could attend and participate. It was cool when they were young, my DD would ride her bike and the BFF would ride in her battery operated Barbie car. Fond memories.
Some people are like Slinkies.
