Need prayers and pixi dust!!

My son has been sick for the past 2 days. He woke up yesterday with a temp of 105. We went to the Dr. who said everything looked fine and didnt know why he was running a temp. He then sent us to the hospital to have x-rays and blood work done. Everything was fine except his white blood cell level was raised. Well a trip back to the Dr.'s office and he gave Nick a shot of a high powered antibiotic and sent us home.
He woke up this morning with a temp of 103, so after a luke warm bath, back to the Dr. office. Another exam and his ears are clear, no runny nose, lungs are clear and his throat is fine. So the Dr. sends us back to the hospital for more blood work. (My mother is hysterical at this point and driving me and DH over the edge) So, back to the Dr. office to find out the results. The blood work is NORMAL. even his white blood cell count is back in the normal range. The Dr. is stumped! He tells us up front 'he has no clue where the infection is'! He is still running a temp of about 102, with Motrin and Tylenol alternating every 3 hours. I am about to my witts end!

On top of it all, when we got home I turned the oven on to start cooking and it threw a breaker and went bye bye.

Stac, hope today brings better things. At least they knew what was wrong with Parker when I took him to the doctor and he is on his way to feeling better. I will be keeping all of you and Nick in my thoughts and prayers. It's the worst when your little one is sick. Looks like we've both been spending our time doing the same things the last couple of nights. Take care.

Hugs Uratoon....hope your little one feels better soon. I have had that happen with my kiddos too. Never did find out what the infection was, just ran its course and they were back to normal and being a hellion in no time at all.

His temp this morning was 101.6, so it is down a little. We got him to eat a little applesauce. He has slept most all morning but when he does wake up he smiles and howls at the dog a little, so I think he is feeling a little better. The Dr. did say that the first 48 hours would be the worst.

Melissa, sorry to hear about your little one. I hope he gets to feeling better soon! It stinks when your little ones are sick because you feel so helpless.


On a good note, I got a new stove!! Now the hubby thinks I need to cook to see how good the new stove works!! Boy is he in for a surprise!! I think I will pull a Lori for a few days!! After all the best way to keep it clean is not to use it!!

Glad to hear he is making improvments, hope he keeps going that way maybe even faster. For everyone's sake make sure you keep that nice new stove clean for a while.

he is feeling much better today. The fever has stayed down for a couple of hours and he has started eating a little. Other than cranky, we are doing pretty good now.
