    Help!!

Going on a trip to the World in late May. Last minute plans changed and enabled us to go.

Question is: we have never stayed in a value resort but finances dictate that is a good option this time. Are they really that much worse than the moderates?

Also, is one better for the other either because of quality, travel time to the parks, etc?

    Thanks

Yes, there is a difference between the values and the mods. Are you going to be spending much time in your resort? If not, you won't notice the difference.

The moderates have larger rooms/vanity/dressers, a table service restaurant, pools with slides and some have other activities available.

Of all the values, we prefer Pop Century. We like it better than the All Stars because of its location and food court. I personally like the check-in area - mainly because there is a lot of vintage Disneyana on display.

Whichever you decide, enjoy your trip!

We dont usually spend muchtime in the resort...thats why we stopped staying at the Deluxe...even though they are wonderful.

Is the location of Pop Century advantageous? How so.....

    Thanks for your input...

We have stayed at both deluxe and value resorts. We stayed at the all-star and the pop century resorts. Both were nice, however I prefer pop century. I second the comment on the check in area. Also, if you get a room overlooking the lake, it is a pretty decent view and quiet. I also liked the food court much better at Pop century. Overall, not a bad resort at all.

Pop Century, like the All Stars, is located further from the parks than the deluxes and moderates. Pop has the advantage of not having to share transportation - they have their own bus route to the parks, whereas the All Stars share buses during certain times.

As for "worse" than the moderates - the rooms are smaller, the pools don't have slides, and there are no extras like boat and bike rentals. There are no mini-fridges in the rooms (unless you request one and pay $10.60 a day for it). The only dining option is a food court. Sometimes there are noise issues because groups book blocks of rooms and you get a lot of kids/teens with few chaperones. But if all you want is a bed and a shower, a value resort is just the thing.

    Enjoy your trip!

We usually drive to the parks and it's easier to get around from where Pop is located than the All Stars.

As the other poster mentioned, Pop doesn't have to share busses like All Stars sometimes has to. This can be inconvenient, especially around park closing time.

I have stayed at the Pop Century twice, and both times were wonderful. We are the kind of people who ONLY sleep and shower in the hotel, so I don't know what it's like during the day, but for the purposes we're there for, it's great! And I agree with what everyone else has said about the food court and buses. Very convenient and nice and all that.
