Pop Century - Where to stay?

We are going to the World the end of July and are booked in a preferred room - this is the first trip for the kids (DD - 11, DS - 7) and the first for my wife and I since 1996...well before Pop Century was built. From what I've heard, we can request certain areas to stay in. Does anyone have any ideas on what we should request if:

We want to be near the WDW bus stop or

Near a pool, or

Is there an area where we will be close to both?

Thanks for all your help!

I would recommend the 60's section to you. It is the nearest section to the bus stop and has the Hippy Dippy pool located in it. You can check out allears.net for a resort map that may help you out with where everything is located.

I'd agree, 60's section. Its the closest to the bus stop and has a pool nearby.

Re: Pop Century - Where to stay?

Td,
Even the 70's section is close to the hippy dippy pool. The 50's section has a pool right out between its'three bldgs. It's not a long walk to the main bldg for the food court, gift shop, arcade and buses from any of the sections.plus,I like to stay on the backside of the bldgs, facing hourglass lake,it's more quiet there at night.
This resort was thought out a lot better than the allstars as far as walking and proximity to other locations.Any section is actually good.

Re: Pop Century - Where to stay?

The resort has a good design. If you're in the 60's/70's, then you're close to the bus station and the main pool. If you in the 90's, like I always request, you're close to the bus station and a smaller (less crowded) pool. The only thing is that there is no poolside bar at this pool :/
