Coronado Springs

My fiance and I are going to WDW in sept/oct to celebrate our engagement. It will be our first trip alone (neither of our parents). This will be his first stay ever at corando springs and my first since 1999. I know that the resort has undergone refurb and would like to know if anyone who has stayed there recently has info on what I can expect to find different. Im also wondering if the gratuity in the food court is covered under the dining plan.

Re: Coronado Springs

Congrats on the engagement. Last year, my wife and I stayed at Coronado Springs. Even though it was the first time we are staying there, we decided to stay there this year as well. We really like the pool and the room was clean. It was a bit far for us to walk to the room after a long day at the park if we got off at the front of the resort, but not bad if we stayed on the bus to the bus stop closest to our room.

When we ate at the Pepper Market under the dining plan and we still left a tip for our waiter. They did bus the dishes for us and get us our drinks. We considered it just like eating at a buffet here in LV, $1 a person. One time, we did get great service and I did give a bit extra for it.

You can check out allears.net for pictures or check my trip report. There is a link on each day for pics. If I remember correctly, check out day 1 & 2 for pictures of the resort.

Have a magical trip in September!

Re: Coronado Springs

All of the rooms are getting either queen beds or kings. The ones getting queen beds have them now, but some that are switching to kinds might still have the full beds. The entire refurb of the rooms is supposed to be done by October this year, so you should be getting a refub'ed room! They're GORGEOUS! I didn't see the new pictures on All Ears, but I might have been looking at the wrong spot.

They have wood doors that slide to section off the bathroom area.

To me, the rooms themselves look more like a deluxe room than a moderate. I'm staying there at the beginning of August, I can't wait!!

Congrats on your engagement!

Re: Coronado Springs

This is our favorite resort. Can't wait to see the renovations this September. We're taking some newbies too. I hope I don't over do how much I like this place.

Re: Coronado Springs

Check out my CSR website for the most to date info and photos. The rehab has moved onto rancho 7b. Eight buildings are complete. The total renovation should be complete by October.

Yes, the 10% gratuity is covered by the DDP.

Re: Coronado Springs

Ranchos 7A is done and open again. Casitas 2 is down now for rehab and will be all month. So, as things stand, all of the Cabanas are done and all of the Ranchos are done. Casitas 4 and 5 are complete; once they finish Casitas 2, they will only have the first three floors of Casitas 1 and 3 to finish. Looks to me as if they are on schedule and will be done by October 09 as predicted.

Re: Coronado Springs

According to a CM from CSR, they will no longer use the resort specific mugs. They have begun to use the new WDW mugs.
