I would say it depends on how good of a job they do I guess. I've never gone by myself yet, so I can't say that I have tipped them. But my mom has before. I'm not really sure how I feel on this part of tipping yet.
Id like to hear about opinions concerning mousekeeper tipping.
As for us....: We DO NOT tip the mousekeeping folks.
It is a non tipped position.
However, some of you do tip. Everyone is entitled to their feelings and opinions.
I simply wont tip a non tipped position. Unionized position at that.
However, Im a firefighter/medic and would like to see some of those tips!!! lol

We tip. We normally do not have mousekeeping come in until we have left the resort, and then just leave about $2 per day of our stay.

It doesnt matter if your staying at the Grand Floridian or a Howard Johnson in Oregon.....you always tip if they do a good job.

We tip Mousekeepers.
I leave a tip a day, $1.00 per person which is normally $4.00
If I am really organized before I leave I put the cash in an envelope and mark it Mousekeeping. And in return we generally are left extras. It is a win-win!![]()
Some people are like Slinkies.
They aren't really good for anything,
but they still bring a smile to my face when I push them down a flight of stairs.
Friends are Gods way of apologizing to us for our families.
We tip 2 dollars a day. We also learned that if we left the money sitting out they didn't take it. Once I started putting the cash under the little cardboard paper that had the housekeepers' name on it, then they took the cash. When you consider how much work they do and how little they make, what's a couple of bucks a day at Disney?
I don't unless I receive exceptional service. As mentioned, I don't view it as a "tipped" position. If they come in and leave me towels, make up the bed, and vacuum...that's doing their job, not exceptional service. If I had a child who was ill and they had to clean up?? Oh you bet I'd tip!!

We ALWAYS tip - especially if they do an excellent job, which, I don't know if it is just our luck, but we find the mousekeepers to always do a great job. My family is 6 people, and sometimes we bring extended family along, so with all these people staying in a 2 bedroom villa, its sort of necessary to tip. Sometimes they even run the dish washer for us while we are out, which we think is pretty nice.

We tipped at the end of the trip. she did a good job and she went nuts with leaving the towel animals and doing a different windows displays for our room with my daughters toys and souvenirs.
I agree 100% with those statements.
I also view the cleaning and sheets..etc as doing their job. No more no less.
However, if i came in and saw that they also..ironed my shirts, washed our dirty clothes..etc, then that would be above and beyond....then id tip.
Mousekeepers get paid better than most CMs' I just cant justify tipping a lady in a union and not the guy/gal that attends Splash Mountain or the CM that picks up the park trash.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone here know what the mousekeepers make? I know there are several CMs on the forums, but I haven't seen any mousekeepers. I'd be curious to know what the average salary is.
