Wilderness Lodge unofficial website
http://www.wildernesslodgesite.com
Stayed at Wilderness Lodge Villas recently and found great trails (paved and unpaved) between the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. In fact, I inline skated over to Fort Wilderness for the Segway Adventure tour. Fort Wilderness has even more trails than Wilderness Lodge, paved sidewalks are a dream for roller bladers like myself. In my town of 110,000 people, only one park (out of about 40) has smooth enough roads to inline skate so college campus walks and paved bike trails are the only place to explore.

I love my 'ole blades! Need to get some new ones, though.
I wonder if its OK to blade/skate all over WDW?!?!
Hmmmmm...?

When we stayed here we enjoyed watching the ducks swim in the morning. So cute.
Re: Wilderness Lodge unofficial website
I researched the roller blading issue extensively before shipping my skates down. There is actually not a lot of information of where you can or cannot skate in WDW. I can tell you that they are not allowed in any of the 4 parks and 2 water parks. In fact, even Heelys (shoes with hidden wheels that pop in/out of the bottom) are not allowed, but I saw a few kids using them in the parks. Florida law also states you cannot skate on any road.
So that leaves sidewalks around the resorts. I am guessing you'd get in trouble for skating on the more heavily used paths, but being September when things were really slow I only encountered about 10 people while skating on trails the entire time. Areas like Boardwalk and Downtown/Westside are the only areas I think it would be highly questionable. Although, I did read about somebody skating around Boardwalk with no problems.
I think most people on vacation try to exert themselves as little as possible so you can take advantage of the empty sidewalks. Fort Wilderness has extensive paths that bikers, skaters, walkers, share with the golf carts. I encountered more golf carts on the paths at Fort Wilderness than other pedestrians, bikers, skaters, walkers, etc.
Ducks in pool... while sitting in the villas hot tub (Hidden Springs) one night, a frog jumped in and floated (got blown around by the jets) for at least 5-10 minutes before I got tired of dodging it and got out. I thought so much for relaxing before bed.

Re: Wilderness Lodge unofficial website
We just returned from our first stay at the villas, over 10 stays at the regular lodge and what we noticed is the quietness of the villas. We'd come back and whisper to each other while going to our room, like a library and so many comfy nooks to relax with a book and drink, sheer heaven. We found we used the bus more to the MK then the boat, heck of alot closer but going back was always a toss up. The pool there is ideal, hardly any guests, no problem getting a table last week, sure miss the place, hate being home, came back from 95+ to mid 50's and dark and rain. We just watched the videos I took and made us sad, just the only cure is to book another trip, even after 43 trips we still enjoy the magic and like I said, the past 10+ stays have been in Wilderness lodge, not really a choice anymore, once you find the best, so sense fooling with experimenting.
Re: Wilderness Lodge unofficial website
We had ducks in the pool with us at AK. Turtles at POR.
I am guessing they leave less behind than all of the tots in their
Swim pull ups.
Re: Wilderness Lodge unofficial website
We have mallards at our home and yes, they will leave a mess in your pool.
