Hitting MK from Yacht/Beach...via Epcot

Just curious to hear people's thoughts on getting to the Magic Kingdom by walking from the Yacht/Beach through Epcot to the monorail, then switching at the T&TC. Versus taking a bus.

I'm trying to recapture some of the glory of my fist handful of visits to WDW where we were always on the monorail loop. My last stay at the Caribbean just felt too dependent on waiting on a bus. Lost so much time at the bus depot. And as much as I think Disney's bus transportation is generally fine, it's an experience that's very unvacation-like to this guest from the bus-heavy NJ/NY area!

The appeal to me of the Yacht/Beach (and Boardwalk) is it emulates the convenience of monorail loop hotels by allowing an easy and scenic walk or boat ride to both Epcot and DHS and a theoretical walk/monorail ride to MK, leaving only AK as the only destination to take a bus to.

I realize this would take some time, but i'm not sure how much. Nor how much it really is in comparison to taking the bus from Yacht/Beach. Thoughts?

Probably a longer route, but it sure makes the magic to take that unique transportation.

If the weather is nice and you have the time, take the walk. A nice stroll from the boardwalk to EPCOT is one of my favorite simple pleasures of Disney World. Plus you get to enjoy two parks without sacrificing too much time.

There is no reason not to do it. I know people who ride the monorail just to ride it even when they are staying in a place where the buses take them all over. Go ahead a do it, it will probably be a great Disney memory for you!

"Born 2B Grumpy" idea is really good. You can see lots of excitement. My last tour of Disney I did the stroll from the boardwalk to EPCOT and really enjoyed.

Best Regards,

You could always take the boat from Yacht and Beach Club to Hollywood Studios and then from there yet another boat or bus to Magic Kingdom.

I think that you could also take a boat to Epcot, then walk, then monorail.
But, really, if you are renting a car, that will be the fastest.

Re: Hitting MK from Yacht/Beach...via Epcot

We usually stay at the Boardwalk, and thats usually how we get to MK from the hotel. Since MK's nighttime EMH are usually a sunday night (the day after we arrrive), we usually go to Epcot all morning, then take the monorail over to MK in the afternoon and spend the night there. We've also just walked through Epcot to take the monorail over to MK. Its a nice leisurly walk, especially if you happen to go earlier in the morning, like before World Showcase is open. Then the whole back part of the park is practically empty
