Here's what it boils down to...money! Or schedule. When we're in the mood to spend most of our time and money is a strong consideration, we love the ASMusic! The pools are great..you can't beat the 3 Cabellero's sprouting water! There's a beautiful fountain between the 2 pools that is lighted at night and all around it is a gorgeous rose garden! For moderates when we want to both relax and spend some time in the resort/pool we liked the POFrench Quarter! The theming is wonderful and the alligator pool is fabulous! Another thing about the FQ is the Sassgagoola River...great for romantic walks and there's a boat that takes you to Riverside to enjoy their pool and facilities and also takes you to Downtown Disney...for free! As for the deluxe when we spend most of our time at, and very little in the parks, it's a cross between the YC and the GF!! The YC has Stormalong Bay, which is incredible, and is usually where we have our Thanksgiving trip and enjoy every minute of it, especially when we consider that every year we get to see at least one wedding below our room. Last August we ran into a problem...we fell in love with the GF on an impromptu trip. Here's the link with a complete trip report if anyone wants to take a looksee...

Another thing which we find extremely important...no matter what time of day or night...and even at 3 a.m., we always feel completely safe at a WDW resort! We never have when we've stayed offsite.

I should've added that, in contrast, when we wanted to spend 2 weeks at WDW last year and couldn't afford to do it at the YC or the GF, we opted for Pop Century for $55 per night including tax. We weren't rushed, had lots of time to see and do everything we wanted to, and even decorated our room! What more could you ask for? Here's a link to those pics, too!

My favorite so far is AKL. Funny, but that was the one resort I had no desire to stay at. 2 years ago this October there was a special Internet rate at AKL and since my son and I had just been down there in May we figured we would spend the money for AKL and spend more time at the resort. We wound up in our room at nearly midnight and I was not impressed with the room at all. I was grouchy and wishing we had stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort where we usually stay. Like I said I had had no desire to stay at this resort at all. I thought it was goofy to have all those animals as a selling point for a resort. I even called my mom to complain about paying all this money for this lousy room.
After a good nights sleep I woke up early the next morning and opened the curtains to our little balcony on the Savannah....oh my gosh...
    It was amazing!!
Animals and sunrise right outside my window. I could not believe the feeling. It was a short trip but we spent every evening on the balcony eating our dinner and looking at the stars. Every morning we ate our breakfast and watched the sun rise. I have to say that it was a true experience every moment at the resort.
I would not spend that much money if you are not going to spend time in your room/resort. Normally we are out the door at the crack of dawn and other than maybe a nap ( another great reason to stay on site) we do not come back until we drag into bed. But if you are willing to explore your resort I highly recommend a savannah view at AKL.

I have stayed at Fort Wilderness, All Star Music, and Pop Century and loved them all. I have toured Coronado Springs, Carribean Beach, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, All Star Movies, All Star Sports, and possibly others. I loved those too! In other words, I haven't seen a Disney hotel I didn't like!

I have said it before in other posts but our favorite place to stay is the Beach Club. It is kid friendly as you will always hear kids running around. The cast is FANTASTIC! I love being greeted by the Captain. We stayed there for our honeymoon 3 years ago and the service was out of this world, although it could be that we had the Platinum Plan. Our view was out across the pools and over to the Boardwalk. The Pool at BC FUN! Beaches and Cream has terrific Ice Cream. We never lacked for anything. One of my favorite treats was the wash clothes in the public restrooms to freshen up after just walking in the door on a hot day! We also fell in love with BC because of its location. As others have said, 5 minutes to Epcot through the back doors or a boat ride away from Disney Studios was great. The busses went between Swan and Dolphin and Yacht and Beach Club. It was really nice. Beach Club is the only reason we bought into the DVC.

My favorite hotel so far has to be the Boardwalk. The atmosphere was so inviting and fun. Walking on the boardwalk was relaxing yet exciting at the same time. The little mints they have at Spoodles are soo good. Me and my mom stole a whole bunch while we were leaving. The ESPN Club was fun too. The jacuzzi tub in the room in the room was the best!

Hey there! I stayed at the GF for my honeymoon as well! It was so awesome! I loved the quick trip to the MK via monorail. I also loved walking in the main lobby everyday- it's always filled with elegance. I also loved the piano players & band that played upstairs. One night after a long day in the park, I actually convinced my new husband to dance with me up there in the middle of the lobby! He did & we got quite a few stares, but we also got a lot of smiles! I think you'll have a great time there! This is the only delux hotel I've ever stayed. I usually stay at one of the All Stars or the Port Orleans (depending on how my wallet is looking). I love the breakfast at the PO French Quarter. After you figure in parking costs, an extra hour in the park & the free transportation (not to mention the Disney Magic) it's totally worth it to stay on site. I don't think I would ever stay off site again unless I'm staying with someone who lives there... anyone... anyone???
