LOVE IT!! I've not stayed many places, but of AKL - Savanah view, Coronado Springs, Old Key West, ASMu, Port Orleans-Riverside (both halves), Saratoga Springs was my favorite! It was so relaxed and comfortable feeling - and I loved being able to walk to Mickey D's in DTD for breakfast!
Please move as far to the end of the row as possible. Stopping in the middle is distinctly unpatriotic!

How is it I managed to miss this great thread for so long!!!
If I pick without considering price, I LOVE the Contemporary. Location, location, location, and this is where we went when I was a little girl, and I still have fond memories.
I have tried a few moderates, and like them, and am trying POR in June, can't wait.
For price and Disney feel, I like the All Star movies, my kids LOVE the Toy Story wing! It's disney, it's all good!!!!![]()

My fav is the Contemporary Resort(toaster as it was called by the bus driver in disney world)I love the atmosphere, chef mickey being right below us (we stayed in a tower room) and was able to watch the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular
every night in our room or on our private balcony. It was amazing!! The food and fun center, the room, the monorail running right through the hotel. My three year old sister then now four called the hotel "the city".
The best part,my favorite park Magic Kingdom right at my fingertips!!!

I can't say much about actually staying at the resorts, but having worked at 10 Disney resorts, the Grovesnor at DTD and Shades of Green, I would say my favorite resorts to work in are a 3-way tie:
Grand Floridian: Celebrities! Listening to the orchestra every night! Fireworks at the marina after work!
Animal Kingdom Lodge: Celebrities! Animals! Great Crew!
Shades of Green: Helping the Servicemen and women! Better pay! Government benefits! Still on Disney!
What I say 100 times each day:
"It's not a Disney Resort even though it's on Disney property!"

Absolutely 100% Polynesian. I have bee to Disney 15 times and have only not stayed at Poly four of those time. We did stay at Grand Floridian and Dixie Landings (POFQ now.) In Sept, I am trying out All-Star Music because of the price, but when I go back next June I make my return to the Poly after a five-year absence. There is just somethig so peaceful about the Poly. Whether it's the waterfall in the lobby or the white sand beach, I feel totally at peace. It really makes you feel like you are away on some tropical island...takes your mind completely off of things back home. The monorail access is also great because we always find outselves going back to MK more often than the other parks. It is expensive, but I think it is more than worth it.

If we can dream it, we can do it.
I used to think it was the Poly for us, but after such a bad experience last time, I guess I'll have to wait for the room removations to evaluate again. For now, though, I have to stick with Wilderness Lodge as our favorite.

I have a huge 3-way tie for deluxe-AKL, Wilderness Lodge and poly
for moderate most definitely POFQ
and for value ASMovies, but i did love the country wing of music
hey evry1!!!
trips to the world:
fall'93(dont remember it) summer '95 summer'00 (grandparents) summer'03; spring break'04; summer '04 (cousins came); spring '05; july 5 -10 '05(friend came); july 26-Aug. 2 '05(cousins came)
Boardwalk is by far the best disney resort. Its a short walk to Epcot which is how my family finishes each day. A nice big pool with a large waterslide. ESPN club gives it the best resort.
Yes, Lou, new dad again, what happened at the Poly?I like to hear resort stories, both good and bad, so share!

Next year I'm going on my Honeymoon to Disney and I chose to book our stay at the Wilderness Lodge. My fiance liked the Polynesian, but I grew up at the beach, so I a beachy-type theme isn't too big of a deal for me. Same with the Port Orleans Resort. I live near New Orleans, so going to Nawlins isn't a big deal either. Then we looked at the GF, but it seemed too stuffy and Victorian, like a Disney nursing home or something.
I/we picked the WL not only b/c it saved me almost $1000 from the Polynesian, but b/c the Pacific Northwest is as far from home as we could ever get in America, I thought it'd be the best choice for a honeymoon.
I do have some slight concerns, which maybe yall could help me with. From some reviews I've read online, I'm thinking the WL may be a bit too "kid friendly" for us. I love kids, and I know being around wide-eyed, cracked-out kids is part of the whole Disney deal, but I don't wanna be woken up at 7am by screaming kids running up and down the halls. especially on my honeymoon! so basically, is the WL too loud for a romantic Disney-focused getaway?
On a side note, this will be my first trip to Disney without my parents (as in, on my own as an adult). we never stayed off property, and always stayed at Fort Wilderness (my folks are big campers). I have great memories of great times had in a Wilderness-y Disney resort, so that may have influenced my decision for the WL.
