How did you like AKL? Did it you find it convenient? Worth the price for the savannah rooms (I guess it depends how much time you spend there)

AKL was a beautiful resort and is now the only place that my kids want to stay. We stayed there a couple of months after it first opened and they were still working on about half of it, the positive side of that was that there were only about half as many people to contend with at the pool, bus stops etc. We got a great deal on a savannah room - about $100 off a night. I doubt we would have stayed there if we would have had to pay full price for a room. As far as convient - it is really only close to AK, so you have to expect a drive if you are headed anywhere else. But I don't think that any resort is convient to everything at WDW. So I guess it all depends on if you are a glass half full or a glass half empty person

Well we stayed off site for many years but then we tried onsite and we were hooked?
First stay onsite - Old Key West - we loved it stayed there 2 more times.
Treehouse villas - loved that - tried to book it this year but was told they are using it for storage- too bad we would love to stay there again.
Disney Institute - another defunct resort - we enjoyed it - got to take cool classes and such -DD got to take an animation class- helped her decide to go into graphic design!
Boardwalk Villas - I loved it - Dh didnt - he likes to park up close and get right to the resort

This year will be our first at the Poly - and first as empty nesters - had my kids when I was young so we could travel - so this year is our second trip with just the two of us and we have a ball!
I've got things planned for us that the kids never wanted to do - the luau and the HDDR - and two behind the scenes tours! We cant wait- esp me!!!

I'm a big fan of the Poly. Love the themeing, restaurants (Tonga Toast is a MUST!), the amenities, and location.

    Enjoy it!

    We have stayed at:
Contemporary - Fun pool and Mickey Stickeys
Polynesian - Beautiful resort, especially at night. Kona's deserts
WL - Was not a favorite resort. But most people love it.
Boardwalk - Great location to Epcot and the Flying Fish
Beach Club - Love that pool
Carribean Beach - We liked it, just never went back.
Dixie Landings - (always be DL to me) was not too crazy about this place.
Port Orleans - Pretty to look at.
Coronado - Another pretty resort at night.
All Stars (Movies-Music-Sports) Thought they were great in the early days.
Pop Century - We liked the food court layout better

I almost forgot the AKL. It's a place everyone should try once. Rooms are very small but the resort itself, it just amazing.
