I heard Pop is like a noisy motel and really only for kids. Is that true?

I have stayed at Fort Wilderness, All-Star Music, and Pop Century. We always stay at the cheap (relatively) resorts and tour and dine at the others.

I got engaged at Epcot on June 17, 2007! We're going back to celebrate my graduation in May 2009!

Believe it or not, I have stayed at all the Disney Resorts except the Tree Houses. (although I heard a rumor that DVC at Saratoga Springs is supposed to reopen them).

My first onsite experience was in 1979 at Fort Wilderness campground. My most recent stay was at OKW in October when we were hurricane refugees.

Rather than rate them all (which would take forever), I'll rate them by category. Remember, these are just my opinions!

Value resort: Pop Century. Everything there is new, which is the big advantage over All Stars. Best building - 1970's. I like it because you can park in the 1980's parking lot and not have to walk forever to get to your room

Moderate: Port Orleans French Quarter. I like it because of the fact the are fewer rooms there than at the other moderates. It is quieter than the others and easier to get around. Another perk is the fact that there is only one bus stop, and when sharing with PO Riverside, you're the first stop. The only thing I'm not happy about there is the fact that they closed Bonfamille's restaurant a few years ago. We really liked it and now there is no sit down restaurant there.

Deluxe: This is a difficult choice for me. I actually like them all for different reasons, but my favorite would have to be The Polynesian. I like it for a lot of reasons - it's on the monorail line, it's one of the original WDW resorts, the theming and the size of the rooms. The newer deluxes just don't have the space that the Polynesian does. We're a family of four and the room size really makes a difference. Also, there's nothing like watching the fireworks from the beach.

Deluxe Concierge: Beach Club. I know, what difference does the concierge make between resorts. The Cast Members at Beach Club Concierge are what makes that resort my favorite. They're helpful, friendly and funny. The food offerings there are also good.

Home Away from home: Old Key West. I know that OKW doesn't have the entertainment and dining choices that the others do, but I still like it better. Again, room size is a definite plus here, especially in the studios. The one bedroom seems more like a condo than the other DVC resorts. I also like the convenience of having our car right outside the room.

If you have any questions about any of the resorts, please email me.

If I ever get to stay at the Treehouses, I'll be sure to let everyone know!

Carribbean Resort- April 1990- Went with HS Band to play in Disney Magic Music Days. It was colorful and when a rocket is launched from Cape Canaveral, it is an awesome/perfect view.

    1993- Stayed off property
    1999-Stayed off property

Port Orleans (French Quarter)- July 2000- The pool was cool, but we were disappointed that the slide was never open when we were available for swimming. The scenery is colorful like a Mardi Gras. The food was ok.

Pop-Century- Aug 2004- I recommend this place to everyone. I would stay here for my next trip in July 2005 but my mom whom I am traveling with wants to have variety. But she liked this place too. The food court was nice, the pool was fun and it was eye opening to view all the memoribilia of the past decades....brought back some fun memories (sometimes, I found myself saying....What were we thinking in those days?)

All-Star Movies- July 2005- To Be Announced.......
    <Script language='Javascript'>var rndNum = Math.floor(Math.random() * 10000);eval("var CDTDate" + rndNum + " = 'July 18, 2005 5:30:00 AM EST';");document.writeln("<form name='CDTform" + rndNum + "' action='Javascript:void(0);'>");document.writeln(' <font size=2 color=fuchsia>Countdown to My 7th Magical Journey to WDW</font><br>');document.writeln("<input type=text value='' size=40 name='WrittenByJamesMVenglarikII'>");document.writ eln("</form>");if (theFunction) theFunction += "var d = new Date();";else var theFunction = "var d = new Date();";theFunction += "var c = new Date('" + eval("CDTDate" + rndNum) + "');";theFunction += "var diff = (c - d)/1000;";theFunction += "var days = Math.floor(diff / 86400);";theFunction += "var rem = diff - (days * 86400);";theFunction += "var hours = Math.floor(rem / 3600);";theFunction += "rem = rem - (hours * 3600);";theFunction += "var minutes = Math.floor(rem / 60);";theFunction += "rem = rem - (minutes * 60);";theFunction += "var seconds = Math.floor(rem);";theFunction += "if ((days < 0) | (hours < 0) | (minutes < 0) | (seconds < 0)) ";theFunction += "var out = 'Hangin w/ the WDW crew!!!';";theFunction += "else ";theFunction += "var out = ' ' + days + ' days ' + hours + ' hrs.     Have stayed at the Polynesian and All-Star Movies. Cannot get my Son to stay anywhere else other that All-Star Movies, he is a huge Buzz fan and thinks we are "home" everytime we stay there!

Port Orleans Riverside and Caribbean Beach are the only two we have stayed at. Of the two I prefer Riverside.

All-Star music...this was my first trip back sincce I was a kid with my little family. Stayed a few times

Caribbean Beach-stayed several times but last time (8/04) didn't like it. Nothing bad just didn't care for the food court & it was too spread out

Port Orleans (before the merge) when it was still just Port Orleans...for some reason, I do not have any memory or a single photo of this stay which ended up being the last trip I would ever take with my mom who died sort of suddenly the next month (she had ALS & that is usually a long drawn out thing). Maybe that's why I have no memory but can't figure out why there are no pics of the resort.

Coronado-stayed here w/o kids and found it not to our liking. Didn't like the food at the food court or the way it is set up. I felt like I wasn't even at Disney

All-Star movies- best food court of any Disney resort I've stayed at. Love the theming but the bus service makes me crazy when the resorts all share buses

Pop- like the atmosphere & theming better than Movies but Movies still wins for the food. FYI..don't eat the meat loaf YUCK & the soup was salty. But the kids loved the tie dyed toast & cheesecake.

    Next stop....WL. Codes, please!

    Let me see:
As a kid, CR a number of times-it is magical memories for me-the decor (at the time) seem futuristic, the monorail, watching fireworks and water shows.....just great childhood memories

Also since have stayed at Poly (OK, pretty, but just did not LOVE it for the price)

CBR-beautiful grounds, and if in a building near the food courts, not a bad walk. It is pretty but very spread out. We have nice service and pleasant people in general

CSR-about the same as CBR for me. Better food court choices, though

All Star Movies-it is what you pay for. Reasonable on property rooms, and my son, 4 at the time, LOVED the buzz and Toy Story themeing, where we stayed. I thought the food court was pretty good, dare I say better than the moderates I have stayed at. Its a haul by bus to the MK and Epcot, the parks we visit the most, however.

I just love to stay on property! I love to be in the middle of it all, and work hard to save extra money so that I can stay on property when I go.

My dream is to someday stay at the GF, and I would like to take my family to stay at the CR again, so they can maybe experience what I was lucky enough to as a child.
I am in need of some Disney magic!!
