Saw the trash can first thing in the morning in Tomorrowland just a few weeks ago-funny story-after, my daughter could not stop talking about it.
Next we went on the TTA, and she told the CM operating the ride all about it. He said to her, "really? This early in the morning? Well, tell him "Mike" said hi!"

My daughter Anna thought that was funny, since as she put it, It was only a trash can after all-how would it know his name?"
I am in need of some Disney magic!!

I love the talking trash cans and whatnot. My favorite is the talking palm tree though. I saw it last christmas and it was all decked out for christmas and it was great. It kept telling me I should get a christmas palm tree instead because they feel left out from all the festivities and I was there alone at the time so it asked if it could be my date around the park. I said yes and it followed me for quiet sometime because it wasn't that busy but then it said 'Oh look! It's so cute!" and ran off over by another this time real-live palm tree. :-)

I saw Push inside on this trip! Never have I seen him inside! I felt like a prefessional, i just said, "Hey, Push, what's up?" and another family looked at me in amazement!

It is at animal kingdom. Normally around the entrance to the park. At least thats where I have always seen it. They have two of them. I saw a christmas one that was small and then I saw just a normal talking palm tree that was much bigger than the xmas one.

allrighty... i just wrote a big long response to this thread, and it all disappeared somewhere (that ain't no Disney magic, I tell ya!). And I don't have the time to re-write it all, so I'll summarize.

I'm brand new here... just joined specifically to respond to this thread, but I'm already loving it, so i'm sure you'll see/hear more of me.

I was just at MK yesterday, and saw Push for my first time. I absolutely loved him. He singled me out from the crowd and we had some fun, I played along entirely, even gave him a couple hug when he asked for it. At first i thought it was a little dude inside, kinda like R2D2 was, but once i realized he was actually a fully functioning trash receptacle, my theory then turned to remote operation, and I spent a good deal of time searching for a hidden camera on the vehicle. It wasn't until I saw Push for a second time later in the day, and after he had just retired back behind CM doors, that I heard one of the Dads in the crowd ask his son if he had seen the man with the microphone who went inside shortly behind Push. I myself had not seen this man, and was actually kind of upset at this "Dad" for ruining the magic for myself (and probably his kid too, among others). However, in my opinion, that only explains the voice. Nobody has said anything yet about how Push was able to move around and spin and dance. Unless that dude with the microphone had a tiny hidden remote control too...

Either way, I hugged a trash can yesterday. twice

...and i see nothing wrong with it.

    The Lowdown on Push

    Greetings

I'm a CM in T-Land -- here's the scoop: Push is definitely voiced and controlled by the same outside operator. There are actually two different guys doing Push right now. In my opinion, his "costume" blends in pretty well with the rest of the guests, but his giveaway is a 6-pack-cooler-looking bag on his shoulder. That bag holds the electronic controls, and he usually has his hand covering his mouth while he's holding the mic.

Another tip: Sometimes you'll see him after lunch, but Push is usually only out in the mornings!

I have a photo of PUSH's "voice" in my gallery if you are interested in seeing him. Yes, he does blend in. You would be surprized how many people "look, but can't see" where the voice is coming from.
