    found this on wikipedia:

Captain Hook is Peter Pan's most well known nemesis. He is Captain of the Jolly Roger and judges his men with an iron claw. He has a real name that is not given to the reader because Barrie states that it would shock you to learn the true identity of Hook.

    think his initials are JAS.

I found that too, as well as other conflicting info. I think I need a more reliable source to be convinced! Haha! Thanks!

I believe in the movie Hook (which is by no means reliable) he signs a letter, Jas Hook. But if it is in the movie, they must have thought the same thing.

Well if the original author of the play, J. M. Barrie, did not reveal Hook's real name, then what other source could be more reliable than that?

Barrie's play is your original source material here. Not Disney, not any other film version, not any other musical stage version, etc.

Oh I thought for sure that it said JAS on the bottom of the note he wrote when he stole the kids. Oh well, I have not watched it in a while. Lol.

Hook is not J. M. Barrie's version, which is the original. Hook is a Spielberg film that attempted to answer the question "What if Peter Pan grew up?"

So again, what did J. M. Barrie say was the real name of Captain Hook? Did he? According to what shelly found on wikipedia, he never revealed it.

On the second disc of the new Platinum Edition Peter Pan that came out last week there are segments on the making of Peter Pan and in some concept drawings of Hook it shows him signing papers "JAS Hook" multiple times... not sure what JAS stands for though...

Yes, but I am afflicted with DBB (Disney Brain Blinders) and keep thinking of Jasmine when I see JAS. Go figure!

The book gives both "James" and "Jas". The copy I have was published by Barnes & Nobles.

This doesn't come about until Hook meets his death with the crocodile "Thus perished James Hook". However there's a sentence at the end of the chapter "...making a precarious living by saying he (Smee) was the only man that Jas. Hook had feared."
