Best Magical Moment

Just Tell about a time when a cast member, or anyone for that matter did something extra cool during your trip... I'll start.

When I was at Disney over spring break this year, I went to MGM with my friend James for extra magic hours. a little bit after we got there it started storming really bad, like REALLY bad, luckily we were in line for Rock'n'Rollercoaster and we were covered. but pretty much everyone else in the park left. So we decided to try to ride tower of terror 10 times we made it to number 9, and by that time we had already made friends with all the people that worked on the ride, but It was curfew time and e needed to get home, so we told our new friend,John, guy that worked on there we had to stop at 9. he said, "nope, your stopping at 10" the he called over another CM and told him to take us up. they then took us through a hidden door and up the CM elavator, It was AWESOME. when we got to the loading area the guy said Got room for 2 VIP's then they put us on right front and center, it was so cool. after we got off the ride all the CM's were at the bottom asking to take the VIP's bags. It was really awesome.

magical moment from a cast member or just magical moment in general?!

We got a certified magical moment certificate for this one. My girlfriend and I were the first family to the docks at the TTC to head over the the magic kingdom. the captain came down and shook our hands, took a picture with us and signed the certificate and handed it over, then told us to board a smaller boat instead of the ferry boat and took us on a tour of the seven seas lagoon then over to the MK, and we still beat the ferry boat over.

Last time we went to Disney World my daughter spoke to one of the characters on Main Street. Another little girl wanted to talk to the character so I told emily that we had to go. As we were walking off, the woman scolded emily for leaving and escorted us out of the Magic Kingdom holding Emily's hand and yelling for everyone to "Make way for Princess Emily"

Another special thing happened at MGM that same trip. My husband is in the army and was in Iraq at the time. I took a picture of my two kids with one of the green "toy soldiers" in front of the toy store. He was one that talked. Emily told the "soldier" that her daddy was a soldier too and that he was in Iraq. The character told Emily that her Daddy was a real hero and that he was just one that protected a toy store. It made me cry and reminded me why WDW will always be special to me.

It was September 2005, my wife and I went to WDW while I was home on leave from Iraq. We were eating lunch at the 50s Prime Time (an excellent if underrated place as far as I am concerned) and the CM asked the usual questions about of it was our first time there, where were we visiting from, what brings you here. When we told her I was home on leave she gave me a big hug and and thanked me for my Military Service. It was one of the greatest moments

Okay. I'm going to cry again!

Don't you love WDW and the people that work there. They treat everyone like family and they always have time to talk to you. I like the Prime Time Cafe also. Makes me feel like a kid and has "real comfort food". I think some of the people that go there "comando style" miss all the sweet moments that you remember. I don't remember so much the rides and attractions as much as the people (cast members and other guests) that I meet there and all the special efforts that Disney does to make every moment special.

The reason we like going there as a military family is that you can get away from the news and forget that Iraq and everything like that exists and just pretend that the world is all PIxie dust and magic and that we are all kids again.

Was that mushy enough for you? Boy do I need to get more sleep.

My friend and I stayed at Pop Century last May. We were in our PJs in the food court after rice crispy mickeys and a guy started to flirt with us, but I kept ignoring him. My friend is VERY shy and never speaks to "strangers," yet she proceeded to answer his question about our dating status with "Well I have a boyfriend, but Britni's single!" I rolled my eyes and he asked what I was going to school for. I said "Nutrition. I'm going to be a doctor," in a manner that basically said "don't mess with me!" I turned to walk away and he said "what kind? an endocrinologist?" I was blown away at his assumption, albeit correct. "Because I'm a diabetic.. and nutrition makes sense for an endocrinologist to study.. why?" This seemed rather serendipitous because I have type 1 diabetes as well. I decided to give him a chance. We became very close and through him I met his sister who is my age and also a type 1 diabetic. She is now one of my most dear friends whom I cherish deeply. To think: I came to know such special people through a run for sweets... when neither of us needed them. WDW is truly a magical place for magical happenings.

My DD aged 7 had been hanging out to get Princess Aurora's autograph. We had been to breakfast in Norway and she was the host . We got special photos but no autograph as we assumed the princess would still meet/greet at the tables. Later in the day we went to MK and waited in the long lines at the judges tent. Alas no Princess Aurora! I happened to mention to my disappointed child that we could still try to return later(hoping secretly that she would forget). An older male castmember overheard and asked Alana which princesses she had met and what one did she really want to visit. Alana explained she had met P/Aurora but did not have her autograph. This castmember knew how to make a young girl's day. He took her book and asked her to wait whilst he went looking for the princess. I couldn't thank him enough when he returned just 10minutes later with the most beautifully written page in my DD's book! Alana must have learnt a thing or two about tipping because she got out her wallet and gave him $5 and a big hug. He may have had anybody write that page but they sure have the most ornate script and my child believes in disney Magic - "Of course the REAL princess wrote it mummy"...made my day.

My best magical moment was this past march when I was at Disney World and my mom, and two friends went to MGM. My two friends and I had just been involved with High School Musical at out school ( I was Sharpay!) We wanted to watch the Pep Rally, but we had missed it, and the cast was just exiting. I was wearing my High School Musical shirt, on purpose, and the guy playing Troy pointed at me when he said "Ready to show your school spirit!?!?" It was soo cool! My mom saw how excited the three of us were, so she went over and talked to a cast member. The CM told us to find her after the next Pep Rally showing and we would get to meet the cast! We went and watched the Pep Rally, and one of my friends and I got up and danced along with them. Not only that, but we followed them to the gate where they leave, and we found the same cast member. She took us backstage, and we got to meet the cast. They thought it was so cool that we had been in the HSM stageshow at our school, and they wanted a picture with us! We did the wildcat claw pose and I have some great pictures of everyone. Plus, the guy playing Troy was really cute!

I have a couple. One year I was wearing my New Mexico State University tank top. On the the jungle cruise the skipper told me she went there, and in fact after talking we discovered that she graduated from the same high school as me a couple of years later. On the same day while waiting in line for the Bear Jamboree, a CM noticed my shirt and he said that he was in the college program from NMSU, that got me a free fast pass for any ride. Another magical moment was during the last parade of the day. My son was wearing his peter pan hat and snow white left the parade and came over and talked to him. Of course he was embarrassed but I love it.

Our honeymoon was full of magical moments, but a couple that stand out were breakfast at the Crystal Palace where the table was decorated with Mickey Mouse head confetti, and getting involved in the opening of MGM! The cast member with the megaphone was welcoming everyone and noticed our honeymoon badges. We were looking at the times guide at the time when we heard him say 'Ah look, you can tell they are newly-weds, they are consulting about what to do!' We turned round to find everyone looking at us!

This is not really a big deal but when I last went in 2007 I showed my friends that there was actually a key under the mat in muppet vision 3-D the CM there gave me a certificate of a magical memory. It was really cool, and I had fun with it.
