When you drive in to Epcot, follow the blue/purple line in the far left hand lane. It will allow you to park up front and walk right in.

Wow! Secrets at WDW. I just returned from my second trip on Monday. If you want to see the MK fireworks don't go to the park. Ride the monorail to CR. Stand out in front or by the pool. No crowds. Relax and enjoy. Also, if you don't like food at your hotel, hop on over to Epcot. You cannot go wrong with WS and all the restaurants. Go have dessert at Paris. Yum! If you are going to Illuminations. Stand up. Along side the UK and Canada side. Try to take the monorail home. It is so much easier. The crowds were not as bad if you leave right when the show ends. If not the log jam is almost overwhelming. If you want an awesome meal. Go to MGM, BD, salmon. Wow! Have fun all!

Here's another tip (it's what I did last time!):
If you're going to view IllumiNations, try going to the Cantina in Mexico (you can't go wrong there!). After the show ends, wait for the crowds to clear out, and walk around World Showcase in a clockwise direction (Norway, then China, etc.). It's worth it - you get to walk around all the countries by yourself (or with a friend - I wish I had a lady friend with me!), complete with all the torches lit (including the globe) and Promise playing in the background. After you finish WS, tackle Future World! It was pretty darn cool!

No way! I took some pics when this happened...I will find them and post (I guess...I just joined the forum and don't know if we can do that) only thing is, there is like a plastic divider between the people mover area and the SM area so the flash will bounce, but I have a couple that are okay. I just have to find them and get them scanned (it was way back when before I had a digital camera!). If anyone wants to see them, email me at sjparisher@yahoo.com and request. Once they are located/scanned I will send them to ya.
PS I know that original post was really old and i haven't read all of the ones in between yet, i'm sure I'm not the only one with pics....oh well if anyone cares let me know.

Thanks! I have a feeling I'm gonna love it here...a bunch of other WDW freaks like me! I found ONE picture of SM with the lights. You can see my reflection in the plastic/glass seperator in the bottom right, on the People Mover. Also, here is a pic taken of my boyfriend (at the time) standing on the side of Thunder Mountain when it broke down in the avalanche scene. We were escorted off the train and first walked out of the cave to take this pic..you can't tell much, and you can't see the shocked looks of the folks on the riverboat (background...the horizontal lines are the lights on it) looking at two people standing on the side of the mountain, next to the track! The other pic is of the area we were on taken from the tunnel (looking backward from the avalanche scene.) All these pics were taken with my phone cam of pics in my scrapbook, b/c they are glued so can't take them out to scan, and don't have a scanner anyway! That's why they are bad, sorry. The long version of our cool breakdown story is in the thread about stories from ride breakdowns.

It was awesome! The inside is just a steel structure and looks very un-mountain like. I wanted to hang out and look for more stuff but the CMs were rushing us thru.

Monorail tip
This is not really a secret or anything, just a tip. When leaving the MK at night after the parades and fireworks we always see this really long line all the way down the ramp to board the Express Monorail. The monorail is also packed to full capacity like sardines. However, you can virtually walk right on to the resort monorail with no wait. You have to stop at the Contemporary and Polynesian before the TTC but it is much better than waiting in the line.
Also, you can avoid the big MK parking lot altogether by parking at one of the resorts. If the guard questions us we say we are going to eat at the restaurant. This allows you to avoid the big crowds coming and going.

reply to princess aurora
I can confirm Princess Aurora's tip about the monorail and parking. My parents have done this.

Two corrections, with all respect to the princess (
)
The resort monorail makes its stops in the following order: MK, Contemporary, TTC, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and back to MK. You only have to stop at the Contemporary before getting to the TTC.
Parking at the resorts - if you are dining at a restaurant, they will give you a parking pass good for 3 hours. You can't (well, shouldn't) use the resort parking lots for MK parking for a full day.
Another way to get back to TTC with less wait is to take the ferry across, instead of the monorail. It holds more people at a time, and usually the lines are shorter.

Oops! I can't believe I forgot the monorail order! As far as parking at the resorts...yeah they do give you a 3 hour pass and you shouldn't take advantage of it. So sorry - bad tip I guess! We have just been doing it for as long as I can remember.
Another monorail tip for cooler months or people who don't mind a little extra walking. As you leave the MK if you go towards the left, you can take a sidewalk that leads to the Contemporary. It is a very short distance. Once at CR just hop on the monorail and ride to the parking lot. You don't have to wait in any line and it's a nice walk.
Also my favorite thing to do is see Epcot backwards. Enter through the International gateway near Canada. Usually there is about 30 minutes to an hour in the morning where WS is pretty empty before the crowds make it back from FW. This is how I discovered the gardens in Canada and the side streets in England. Of course I haven't gone during peak season in years so I don't know if this holds up.
Well, I leave for WDW in 4 hours so I will keep writing down everyone's great tips and hopefully use some on my trip!
