Im not sure if there will be a lot of construction there buy check the rehabs on any wdw website and they will tell you. I am going at the end of May and I dont think there are any at the time im going to be there.

There is supposed to be one of the original boats from 20,000 leagues under the sea sunk in one of the scuba diving areas, however I heard it might have been taken away recently but I am not 100% sure of this.

Hello I was just wondering if any of you know if there is any construction going on in Magic Kingdom in May we are going then and i just want to beware so we can plan our day accordingly.

It was indeed sunk in Castaway Cay. A net was placed over it for some reason and a rope put around it but divers could swim up to it and take pictures etc. There's some detail about it here (one of my favorite sites ever): 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea - The Ride (scroll about 20 photos down)

This was a secret posted on page 7 in 2005:

"My WDW secret has been there for a long time, but very few people check it out. It's the theatre behind the Kodak store in the MK on the right side of main st. Immediately after you come out from under the RR to the Main St. Circle there's a white gingerbread trim walkway with an unmarked entrance door. You go down a short hall and there's the small theatre playing old Disney cartoons, some in black and white. This is where they used to show The Disney Story, which is now in MGM. They have plywood cutouts of Snow White & the seven dwarves, Steamboat mickey, etc. that you can get your picture beside as well as a photography museum there. On our last visit Jan 2005 we also found this area is where the characters who are about to go out on Main St. gather before their big appearance. We literally ran into Fairy Godmother, Wendy, Clopin,Esmerelda,Cinderella,&Cruella all at once. Since we were the only ones in the hallway, they each signed our autograph book and posed for individual pictures as well as a big group photo. It was JACKPOT charactertime!!! And I was thrilled more than my daughters."


Does anybody know about this theatre, if so can you explain it in better detail on how to get to it?? Thank-you!

You can still see some of the characters before and after they go to their meeting spot in Town Square. My family saw Mary Poppins and Bert there before they went behind a curtain. My DD was so excited!!

I've known about that theatre....its funny though, because once your back there you can never really figure o ut how you ended up there in the first place! And you're right, it's nice and empty back there and relaxing...when I was a kid I was confused by this place cuz I couldn't imagine who would want to come to Disney World and sit in a dark room watching movies all day! But now that I am older I make sure to stop in there, I am glad they have it because its a nice reminder of the past and the foundations of Disney.
