Oh my gosh, AWESOME thread.

Well, I had a truly magical experience with Captain Hook when I told him I wanted to join his crew. He was SO excited it was hilarious. That's definitely something I'll never forget.

I've never done this, but it would be funny to ask Cinderella if she could sneak you into the suite in her castle (just a thought).

I always ask characters about their co-stars, like how they're doing and such. It always flatters them. Mulan, in fact, told me that Mushu does the fireworks.

Also, if you're over enthusiastic about meeting a villain they will despise you. It's so incredibly hilarious. When I waved at Frollo like a maniac in the Stars & Motor Cars parade he completely froze and stared at me. WOO!

these are such great tips! i'm going to have to remember them the next time i go to WDW because i am always looking for characters to meet. i wish i had known about the Buzz Lightyear one because i met him this past summer and it would have been fun to do.

I had the best interaction with Captain Hook when I told him that he was the original captain over Jack Sparrow. He loved that!

When I first took my boys to Disney and we met Mickey I actually got shy!!!! ( I was 27!!)

I love the Captain Hook one! I'll have to remember to do that when I go back.

One thing I read somewhere was when you see Cinderella ask if she's wearing her glass slippers. If you see her in the castle she says she's just wearing house slippers because the castle is her house. Not sure what happens if you see her in Toon Town fair.

Ask the Tremaines if they ripped Cinderella's dress. They'll reply that mice stitching is not reliable and the opening of the door caused a draft to blow Cinderella's dress to pieces.

Also, show off any Mickey merchandise you have to them and see what happens.

I had the best interaction with Mickey back in 2005. This was when Cinderella's Surprise Celebration was still going on, and in between shows the characters would come down and do pictures/autographs (they don't do this anymore, sadly). Anyway, I was waiting to see Mickey. I don't remember what brought it on, but all of a sudden he got down on one knee and "proposed". It was soooo sweet! I have the best picture. After he "proposed", I asked him what should I tell Minnie? He put a finger to his lips in the "shhh" position. Later, when I was passing through the castle and saw Mickey again (right by Minnie) he did the "shhh" again. One of my best character interactions ever.

Kea has a problem with the characters, she loves them, seeks them out and then looks at the floor. Well this time I asked her to please at least look at them and talk to them if possible.

First she told Stitch that he was her mommies favorite so he Kissed her, hugged her and pretended to lick her head, pick her nose and then swatted her rear. It was great.

At Epcot character in the round she kissed Minnie who then got down on her level and hugged her.

With Chip and Dale at character in the round she said they were her cousins favorites and they actually danced with her and hugged her.

She gave Snow White, at Germany a handful of flowers and Snow White kissed her cheek (picture is in photo area) she wore that huge red lipstick mark for 2 days.

There was no one around the Pocohontas (at the park near the entrance to Liberty Square on the left) and she came over where we were having Kealani's chalk portrait done and sat and talked to her, took photos, and just hugged her and answered questions, she was truly awesome and my daughter was thoroughly enchanted by her after that.

Kea asked Nulan if she missed home (since she is in Florida) and she almost cried then she hugged her and signed the book and thanked her for asking. She was only slightly homesick for her family.

We have had some really good character interactions, but I have to really get Kea to participate ( reckon she is slightly autistic?)

I thought of a few more.

1) I was meeting Mulan and Mushu, and Mulan decided that we should pose like warriors. All 3 of us were posed the same way.

2) I saw Prince John and the Sheriff. The Sheriff tried to steal my money, and when I asked PJ how his mommy was he did the pose from the movie (holding his ear, putting his thumb to his mouth). Then for the picture all 3 of us did the PJ pose. Really cute picture.

3) When I went to see Figment he stole my water bottle. I then had to chase him around his room and around the building to get it back

4) I went to lunch at the Garden Grill. I asked both Chip and Dale who was Clarice's boyfriend. They both insisted that they were. I then told each of them that guys sure get into a lot of trouble. Of course, they felt that it was girls who were trouble. Finally, me and Chip came to an agreement that it was Dale who was trouble. He even signed a napkin stating that (I still have the napkin).

My general tip is to not be afraid to 'be saucy' with the villains. Years ago, as my family came off The Tower, some of the villains were standing right outside the exit. My dad got into a conversation with Cruella De Vil. While they were talking, Cruella said, "Oh, this is a marvelous hotel. I recommend it to all of my friends." My dad said (rather snotilly) to Cruella, "How many friends do you have?" She gave him the iciest stare I've ever seen and responded, "Plenty more than you.". It was hysterical, and I still smile at the memory.

It must be fun to be a villain. They probably have more 'wiggle room' in terms of how they can interact with guests than other characters can.

This isn't a character interaction memory. It's a CM interaction memory, but I thought it was worth sharing, and I'm not sure if a smilar thread exists for CM interactions.

I'm a pin trader, and years ago, I was approaching a CM working at a DVC pavilion. (I'm in my mid-twenties, and I think the CM was, too.) He was almost finished talking to another guest. Once he was done, I walked up to him. I was looking at him pretty hard, trying to figure out if he had any pins I was interested in. He said, "Can I help you?" I said, "Oh, I'm just looking at your pins." His response was, "Oh. I wasn't sure if youwere doing that or checkin' me out." I should have given him a hug for saying that. It made my day.

One time at Magic Kingdom, the Queen of Hearts was flirting with my dad, and she made him give her a kiss on the cheek! It was hilarious!

I love character interaction, I've got a few stories.

The first time I went to WDW I was 4 and Minnie was (and still is) my favorite character. I had a Minnie autograph book and Mickey and Minnie were standing together at the Magic Kingdom. Of course, I went to get their autographs. Mickey got all jealous about the book and started "yelling" at Minnie. She got down on her knees and started "asking" for forgiveness. I was kinda freaked out then, but now when I look back on it I crack up.

That same trip at the Garden Grill, Chip and Dale came to my table and started arguing about who would get to sign the autograph book first. They did that for about a half an hour, it was great.

The last one happend at my last trip to Disney World. My mom wasn't feeling well so she stayed at the hotel. My dad and I were at the Magic Kindom even though I was 12 (and me being a big dork) I still got my picture taken with Cinderella when I saw her. She started flirting with my dad and he got really freaked out. I whispered in her ear "what would the prince say?" and she got a worried look on her face and "shhhh'ed me". My dad still denies that it ever happens lol.
