Test Track Secret

Last March we were in Disney World and had gone to EPCOT. After we go off Test Track we walked around the show room. A CM walked up to us and started talking with us. I think his name was Andrew. After a little bi he gave us all passes to the GM VIP room ! He escorted us to the front of the ride and lead us to a plain looking door to the right of the entrance. Just inside the door was an elevator that took you up to the second floor. When the doors opened we walked into a big office. They told us we could have free sodas. The glass in the front of the povillion is where the office is. From ther you could see just about all of Futer World, you could even see Beach club. You had a front row seat of the cars racing passed. They then escorted us down a flight of stairs that took us to the loading dock of the ride. No wait ! Has anybody else had this happen to them?

We've never had it happen from a CM, but we've been in the VIP room there once before when my Husband was working a job for General Motors and had GM ID to show.

This deviates from the topic slightly, but I understand that SSE has a similar VIP room for Siemens folks, and was wondering if anyone's been there. My brother and sister-in-law, both of whom work for Siemens, will be visiting us next month, and we'll probably be going to Disney. Just wondering if it would be worth it to have them bring their company ID to see if they can get into the Siemens VIP area.

My family and I got to go to the VIP room about 3 years ago. We had taken a short cut through one of the Innovation and my dad was talking to a CM about the Red Sox...the CM asked my dad if we had gone on Test Track yet and my dad told him how my brother was Fast Passing it...the CM told my dad that he would get us in the VIP room...it was sooo amazing!!! I love the picture of me and my mom standing in front of the window with Mission Space behind us...my whole family agrees that that had to be one of the best Disney moments yet!!

Certainly couldn't hurt to take the ID's and ask!

We didn't take any photos! Wish I would have. You should post your photo and share it with us!

Yes, SSE has a lounge. I believe all the Future World pavilions do or did at one time. If you have an ID from the company that sponsors the pavilion, you may be able to visit it and get soft drinks and a chance to relax in air conditioning. Visiting some of them used to be and may still be a part of the UnDISCOVERed Future World tour.

The SSE lounge is over the Project Tomorrow area and looks out at the Fountain of Nations. You can see the windows for it in this picture (I think the building has been repainted white)

A co-worker of mine was there in January and her mom (who works for Siemens) took them inside the vip room. It sounds similar to GM's. There was an office for meetings and an area where they could get free soft drinks. When they were done she said they were escorted down to a back door and were able to get a sneek peak at the attraction in between the soft opening time. She thought it was like being in an office, but still thought it was pretty cool considering where they were.

this is really neat, I never even knew about a VIP room. I knew there had to be offices but not that people that didn't work for disney could go in.

My dad works for Hewlett Packard (the company who sponsors Mission Space) and we got into the VIP when he showed them his ID. The people who work in the VIP areas also work for their respective companies, so they get to work from Disney World as well as assist with the guests There were free Cokes, candy, and cookies out as well as a couple of computers with internet access and a place to print off your pictures. After we were done in the lounge, they got us to the front of the line and invited us to come back as many times as we wished. Too bad HP doesn't sponsor Soarin', huh?

Welcome to the boards Spodie. Candy, cookies and drinks! Lucky! The one at TT only had drinks, but I wouldn't trade that day for the world. It's just one of my many Disney memories.
