Cast members and inside info?

I like to read a lot of factual books about Walt, WDW, and the Disney corporation.....the Disney 'concept' fascinates me!

I was just wondering whether cast members join disney forums like this, and are they allowed to discuss behind the scenes information or do they sign some kind of confidentiality contract?

There are CMs on this site BUT they don't talk about any behind the scenes info. (I wish they would too! lol)

At least it stops them from telling us stuff we wouldn't want to hear about being a cast member!

Wouldn't it be great if WDW did cast member 'experiences', where you could pay to be a temporary cast member for the day...it would be my dream job if I only had to do it for the day!!!

I know a few cast members and they frequent online forums. From what I've been told, if you want a nice, long employ with "The Mouse", it's not best to be talking on forums.

Translation: If you want to make this a career and see a management position, no speaky to the online community unless it's sanctioned (ala Lou's interviews with Cast Members)

I was an ICP CM and while I wasn't given any information that was highly guarded, I don't think there were any specific confidentiality contracts. While information is given in confidence, more often than not, the priviledge of the information is enough to maintain its integrity. Six months after returning to Australia, I still maintain the magic!

That's a lovely way to think about it. It should feel like an honour to be a cast member (although I'm sure at times it's real tough) and know that there are many people dreaming about that job all across the world.....
