Much the same as the initial posts on the thread, I was evacuated from Dinosaur in August. We broke down at the "loss of traction" sequence, and I have to say, it's creepy sitting there in pitch black and hearing the Carno racing out ahead of you. Everything was still working bar the vehicle; Carno, the lighting, the sound-effects. I'm a fairly level-headed person and a former Army reservist, but I was still terrified! We were stuck in the darkness for about ten minutes (with a cool little jungle background SFX loop) until the worklights came on. Wow! One of my best experiences on WDW property.
We were evacuated not long after, and rather than turn back, walked the rest of the track. It's incredible how much it slopes in places. But the thing that REALLY got me was the animatronic dinosaurs. As you can see from other threads, my favourite current theme-park attraction is JAWS at Universal Studios Florida. In true Hollywood style, you only build what the audience sees: the sharks at JAWS are only complete from the snout to where the dorsal would be, and are open underneath.
On Dinosaur, many of the animatronics I walked past (taking my time as much as the CMs allowed) were almost complete dinosaurs in comparison. Incredible attention to detail and perfection, the likes of which I thought the accountants that ran the Walt Disney Company had long since outlawed...
Kept the readmission ticket as a souvenir!
On another note, we were evacuated from 20,000 Leagues in the showbuilding in 1991. A pretty cool experience. Still remember my mother's immediate thoughts on the dark, dank interior that lay behind those pristine waterfalls - "...absolutely God-forsaken!"![]()

Well yes I suppose, it was so they could control the lighting and have you "deeper". But you were already underwater when you sat at your porthole in the loading docks.

Ooh, I can top that! We got stuck half-way between 2 scenes. Can't remember for sure because it was a few years ago, but I think it was between the 2nd and 3rd. So we had the audio of the 2 scenes simultaneously and depending on where you sat in the theater, you were either able to see the 2nd or the 3rd scene, or, as in my case, you were in the center and staring at the divider between the 2.
