My vote is for 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. I feel like they gave up when they took it out of service due to "maintenance difficulties". Pretty un-Disney to say 'it can't be done' and walk away.
I know it couldn't handle as many guests per hour as it needed to, but it was a classic attraction and the fact that there was nothing to replace it was very disapionting.

could be there if they ever found a sponsor......it just makes me sad and angry
And I have to mention Horizons......I miss it so much!
I completely agree with you... the fact that WOL just closed is ridiculous... and i do not believe that Disney could not find a replacement for the sponsorship... i mean really!!! they can do better than that.... some of it was def. dated but they could have updated it if they tried to get a new sponsor...

Re: Worst WDW refurb/update or closure...
I was very disappointed with the refurb of Pirates of Carribean, I couldn't place it but redheadbrown hit on the nail with the musty smell and soundtrack. I am also not a fan of the new tikki room.

Re: Worst WDW refurb/update or closure...
There are a bunch of them, but The Wonders of Life Pavillion, Figment, and The Toad are among the most devestating casualties for me. I can't speak on the Space Mountain refurb yet cuz I haven't seen it, last time I was there they had giant walls around it, but something tells me the update is going to be a good thing.

Re: Worst WDW refurb/update or closure...
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this. I agree with many of you on on the closings of beloved attractions, but the thing that's made me the saddest is the Haunted Mansion refurb. It completely changed the storyline, which I used to really look forward to. Now, instead of a haunting tale of tragedy about the bride meeting a sad end on her wedding eve, it's become a story of a "black widow" bride, a serial killer who fails to evoke my sympathy.
The story used to give me chills and tug my heartstrings. This new story makes me not care about what happens to the bride or her dumb husbands. Now it's just a dark ride to me, not a fully imagined tragic love/ghost story. Why would they do that?
Oh how miss the ghostly bride wandering lost in the wind, her red beating heart pounding out its grief for all eternity....

Re: Worst WDW refurb/update or closure...
you now i never thought of that...
huh... u know ur absolutely right... that change in storyline completely changes the complexion of the attraction...

Re: Worst WDW refurb/update or closure...
Imagination and the Tiki Room bother me the most as far as changes go.
The empty Wonders of Life really is just depressing. Even if WoL does not come back, please do SOMETHING with that pavilion.
However regarding Imagination I will say that the FIRST refurb was so bad that I'm actually somewhat grateful for the current version. That doesn't mean I like it but it's...tolerable. No Dreamfinder is bad enough but no Figment (though you could still buy plenty of Figment merchandise) was really upsetting.
Gotta love a duck in uniform.

Re: Worst WDW refurb/update or closure...
yeh both of those were disastrous... i am surprised that the tiki room hasnt had a refurb since the new management... considering the negative sentiments about it... i mean at least Journey updated it again after ppl. hated it... i guess they the think the tiki room just "is" and its not worth fixing... ppl may complain but as long as there are ppl in it that is good enough

Re: Worst WDW refurb/update or closure...
I voted for the Horizons closure. I feel like it was the heart and soul of the Future World that I knew, and loved, as a kid.
If we can dream it, we can do it

Re: Worst WDW refurb/update or closure...
I miss World of Motion and Horizons lots but the one that jumps out the most on this voting list is the Tiki Room, I strongly dislike the "New Management" so I voted for that.
