The rocking chair on the porch of that store just as you're exiting The Haunted Mansion.

Re: Where is the most peaceful place in Magic Kingdom

I love taking a grand circle tour of the kingdom on the WDW Railroad. There are some nice vantage points from the train cars.

Re: Where is the most peaceful place in Magic Kingdom

In the mid to late 1990s, I always found the abandoned 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea infastructure to be the most peaceful place in the Magic Kingdom.

Perhaps a little predictable for someone who, even to the most casual observer on here, is a dyed-in-the-wool fan of the long lost attraction? Actually no, because surely such a person would want to avoid seeing their favourite ride abandoned and rotting away?

On the contrary, I always enjoyed it for the pure beauty of the lagoon, a testimony to the keen eye of Claude Coats and his well-honed experience as a background artist. In those days, before the false volcanic rocks were removed from the lagoon's perimeter, the caverns' falls were still turned on and the water was still fairly crystal, it was very tranquil. As it was no longer an attraction, people tended to avoid it and instead headed for Dumbo or across the road to Mr. Toad. Without any crowds, and without the endlessly annoying drone of the submarines' diesel engines, that faux tropical lagoon was something to behold. The sight was an embarassment to the resort management and their spreadsheets, a dreadful waste to Imagineering and a sad headstone for nostalgic fans, but to me there was something very artistic about it all.

I would of course have preferred to see one of the fleet motor past and into the bubble screens, but seeing it lying dormant was also pretty cool in itself. You can never have enough water features, especially when it is some 11,500,000 gallons full of the stuff!

As for the Magic Kingdom in the present day, I have always thought that the Haunted Mansion at night - paradoxically - is a pretty peaceful place. As silent as the grave, etc. etc. Insert a pun here, you know the drill.

Our quite time growing up was always the Peoplemover... But now, the Rose Garden after the last parade is one of my favorite spots. Quiet, peaceful, romantic and deserted.

Re: Where is the most peaceful place in Magic Kingdom

I like on the benches across from Hall of President's and next to the popcorn stand. Tables in that area, can people watch, listen to the boat toot, hear screams from Splash, and get some shade... then I duck into the Christmas shop where it's nice and chilly on a hot day...

I guess it's one of those spots everyone rushes by on their way down Main Street- I've rarely encountered more than a couple people back that way in late April and early May anyway.

Popcorn and a large Coke for me too, please.
Absolutely! I have always seen this area and wondered what was down that street and FINALLY ventured down that way just recently on our last trip. It's amazing how quiet and removed this area is from the hustle and bustle of Main Street.

One of the last boats cycling through Jungle Cruise, not the last boat, but just before that one because they'll pack that one up and send it out as soon as we close. If I was on the last boat, I ask if they really want to hear the spiel, and if not, I just keep it quiet and talk with them and it's very relaxing and the guests really think it's cool to talk one on one with a skipper.
