    Help from the experts?

My brother went to WDW years ago and told me of this shop or room that had boxes with labels on them "Do Not Open!" , "Danger!", etc and if you opened them they made fun, but loud sounds. He thought it was after some train ride, but couldn't remember. Anyone out there ever hear of this? We are going in two weeks and would love to check it out. Thanks in advance!

the only thing that comes to mind for me is the end of backlot studio tour but the boxes were outside when they used to have the dip machine out there...you could open the boxes and they made all kinds of sounds...does this sound right?

Erica is right. It was the late 80's or early 90's. There was an area with a Roger Rabbit theme. 'Toon' boxes that, when opened, made sounds like springs boinging or ahh-oog-gah horns. The area had the 'dip' machine and a cut out of Jessica Rabbit (photo op).
If memory serves, it was replacedquite some time ago.

It was a shop, and still is. It doesn't have the 'joke shop' theme that it used to. It is a partially enclosed shop that is across the way from the restrooms and the "Splash" mermaid statue that is near the disembarking point for the Backlot Tour. (get off the backlot tour, go through the building, through the shop at the end of the building, then turn left after you exit the shop. It will be just up on your right. They moved the steamroller and the dip some years back, yes. Some of the boxes were still there a couple years ago, I think. It's possible that they may have relocated some of the boxes to the shop after leaving MuppetVision 3D. (across from Mama Melrose).

I have a picture of my DH with Jessica, I remember those sound boxes too! Those were still there in September 1995.

Also, I am almost nearly certain that they still have these types of boxes at ToonTown in Disneyland. I plan on checking that out in ooooh FIVE DAYS!
