Oh I know! We had to go through the car wash when we were there! And alot of it didn't come off! Pretty gross...
My daughter plays with those when we go. The love bugs are the only ones I have really noticed there. They don't bother us since we have them pretty bad here in Louisiana too. You should see what they do to the front of a vehicle. Eeeeww!

2 days ago at Animal Kingdom there were so many of those disgusting lovebugs flying around, it was tough to be a human!
I have tons ofof various Hidden Mickeys. If there's one you want to see, and if I have it, just ask me and I'll be glad to share it with you!

Well when i was there in september the love bugs were everywhere. They were the worst on the safari in AK. Someone told us it was mating season and they were in fact mating in the air. I think that might be the truth since this time it looked like baby love bugs flying everywhere that werent attached to each other. Also saw a palmetto bug at Pop Century and there were a ton of spiders spinning webs on the bowling pin stair cases there.

Although I notice that Disney does do a great job at keeping insects at bay, I must say that it seems during the evening hours.. let's say during the parade or the fireworks, if you pick a spot near the fencing by the bushes surrounding the hub area watch your ankles. Bugs seem to love me since I'm so sweet. I hate to admit I fell victim to being attacked by gnats at Disney, but I have a few times (once at EPCOT too, which resulted in me using the First Aid station for some Benadryl). I react very badly to bug bites, but I never let um get me down, especially when I'm doing disney Commando style!

They are a huge problem down here in Florida during certain parts of the year. After a 10 minute drive on the interstate the grill of your car is covered with them. Ironically in that wiki link there is a picture of them covering a WDW bus stop in September.
Bottom line is, Disney tries really hard to control the bug population but when you build something this big in the middle of swamp land, you're gonna have bugs no matter what.![]()
Sometimes all you need is a reminder that out there lies a better place... a better world... a Walt Disney World.

in epcot they play the sound of birds in distress to warn others away, in order to avoid getting bird **** everywhere
I grew up hearing Love Bugs were supposed to eat mosquitoes but had come out engineered without mouths, a mistake at the University of Florida. Sadly, that rather cool tale is wrong. I don't mind Love Bugs - they've actually decreased substantially in numbers since I was a little girl growing up in Central Florida. The smushed ones are acid to your car paint, but they don't plague the crops, they don't bite the people... they just float around for a few weeks in April and September.![]()
