    Favorite Resort

It all depends on what you want out of your resort and what you are willing to pay. BCV has been our favorite since we honeymooned there, but we also really enjoyed the WLV. On a short trip we made the decision to stay at Pop Century for a break on cost. It was wonderful. The resort was a lot of fun and well laid out.

To pick one, I would still say BCV. Cannot wait to go back. Now I just have to figure out when.

    Mike

    2006 Fall - BCV
    2006 Spring - Pop Century
    2004 New Years - OKW
    2003 Honeymoon - Disney Wonder
    2003 Honeymoon - BCV
    2002 Summer - WLV
    2000 Summer - OKW
    1987 Fall - Offsite

    favorite home away from home

undoubtedly Wilderness Lodge and Villas - ever since we first stayed there over 12 years and 20 visits ago, we've never stayed anywhere else... a warm, dare I say calming atmosphere, shopping, food, ease of transportation, and best castmembers makes this resort simply the best.

I have to agree that Wilderness Lodge is the best. It's so serene and being able to see the fireworks from your window is priceless! Not to mention being able to just ride a boat over to Magic Kingdom!

I have stayed at the following resorts:
*Shades of Green before it was Shades of Green
*The Buena Vista condos (which are no longer there) that were across the water from Pleasure Island
    *Pop Century
*All stars Music, Movies and Sports
    *Fort Wilderness
    *Port Orleans
    *Coronado Springs
*Polynesian (but I was too little to really remember)
    *The Grand Floridian
    *The Contemporary
    *The Animal Kingdom Lodge

Pop Century is def my fav. I also love the Fort Wilderness cabins, and the grounds in general, and I absolutely, positively LOVED the AK Lodge! My goal is to experience as many resorts as possible....however, I never spend enough time in the room to enjoy it. All the resorts are amazing and each one has it's own piece of the magic. I recommend staying in a new one each time you are able to go.

I have stayed at all of the resorts from back when I was a CM, they encouraged the people in central reservations (where I worked) to visit the resorts and restaurants so almost every weekend we went and stayed at whichever resort was giving the discount that week and ate at whichever restaurant was giving the discounts. Now though since I am disabled and in a chair most of the time I prefer either the polynesian or the Grand Floridian because the buses are a hassle to deal with and they have to use a little wooden ramp at Contemporary, which gives me real bad memories because I broke my back at Epcot on a similar ramp that was out of code, it was a scabbed up plywood temporary ramp well below Disney standards but I have the five breaks to remind me even Disney isn't perfect.

    Contemporary all the way!
The monorail runs through the lobby so when you eat breakfast, you watch it go by.

That is fun to see. I do like that effect as well. Not too many places to eat that can say they have a monorail passing by. That also reminds Us how it all started with that Resort and the great Monorail.

I have been to DW 4 times in my life. My wife (of 11 years) has never been. Neither have our children. We will be going Dec.13 - 19 this year and are wondering where is the best place to stay (Music Vs. Contemporary - 25 minute ride to the park Vs. 10 minute walk). This will be the biggest vacation we have taken. EVER! Do we need to book through Disney or is it cheaper through a third party travel agent? Any help is appreciated!
