Lou, I like the "old" way better. Since I often stay logged on this will only add to my frustration. I am sure some of the regulars may feel the same.
I've made a modification to the navigation bar at the top of the forums.
Rather than the "New Posts" link, which (based on your browser's cookies) showed you topics with activity since your last visit, I've now created an "ACTIVE TOPICS" link.
This drop down menu will not only give you access to the posts since your last visit (like the New Posts link did), but will allow you to view posts from the last day, week, 2 weeks, month, 3 months, 6 months and year!!
Enjoy!![]()

JC,
This is actually no different from the "old" way, in that it just takes an extra click to get to the posts since your last visit (same as the New Posts link did), while still giving you the availability to see other active threads.
I often stay logged in most of the day as well. However, there's a possibility that clicking on the New Posts link may yield no results under some circumstances. For example, if you log in and get the New Posts list results, walk away from your computer for an extended period of time, then come back and try to just get the New Posts again, you may get nothing back, since it appears based on your cookie that you have been logged in and that those unread posts are not actually "new".
Plus, this is also a valuable tool, especially for new members who want to "catch up" on what's been happening here before they joined.
Does that make any sense or did I do a really poor job of explaining it?

I still have new post listed. Maybe it only changed on the PCs.
Stitch,
Try refreshing your browser. Which OS and browser are you using, BTW? Also, do you have the drop down for Search and Quick Links on your nav bar?

Hmmm.... must be a MAC thing not understanding the scripts. Sorry about that - it's the way the software is currently written. I'll advise them that it's a bug and should be addressed in the next release.![]()
Now... back to printing my stuff (questions, Scaveneger Hunt sheets, etc.) for MouseFest.

I like it the way I see it now, so I'm not too worried about it.

Thank you Lou for doing this!!! I've often encountered the problem you described above. This way I can easily see what I have missed despite how long I've had to idle at my machine.Originally Posted by AKQJ10
