NEW Chat Room Now ONLINE!

A number of members requested/suggested

implementing a CHAT room into the site or forums. Well, you asked for it... you got it!

We are now testing a new, Real-Time Chat room , which can be accessed from the forums menu bar (see attached image).

Just click on the Chat link, and a new window will popup. I have integrated it into the forums to automatically use your member name.

Once the chat window opens, you will see a list of online users in the right hand pane. You can also right click on the text entry window to select smilies and sound effects. Please note that if you click the "Float" button, asyou cannot close the original window, or it will close the chat client)

Please note that this is a BETA test to evaluate functionality, interest, etc. If members like the idea of a chat room, I will further integrate it into the forums, etc.

If you have any suggestions, comments, etc., please post them here or send me a PM, IM, or e-mail.

If people are interested in starting a regular chat room "schedule" with different topics, times, etc., please let me know. Post your suggestions, best times, topic ideas, etc. here and we'll try it out!

A schedule would be terriffic! For me it has to be after work - I check in on my lunch hour - but after work - any time after 6:00 would be great!

Possibly set up a Monday or Thursday night about 8pm eastern daylight time.
Maybe we could even do little trivia games

We would have to do easy ones so people won't

You are replying to a 4 year old thread. Chat times has since been established. Currently, we hold chat on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 9:00 PM EDT/EST. All registered DWTers are welcome!

Attempts to hold chats at different times/days haven't been too successful.

However, you can set up a chat time anytime you want.

How do you get to the chat room? I don't see a link (but when you point it out I'm probably going to have to slap my forehead because it's so obvious)
