What causes such a large increase in that type of activity?

I got engaged at Epcot on June 17, 2007! We're going back to celebrate my graduation in May 2009!

I think you are right about the web bots Pat. When I was logged this morning with only 250 "people" or so, I noticed about 35 viewing the multimedia downloads section. I thought it was odd since guests cannot view or download from that area.
Either that or Lou was showing DWT off at a Mousefest meeting this morning!

We will just pretend it was the later, Mandabella.
I like that reason better!

Of course! What else would it be?

Believe me, I'm hoping that with you guys helping to spread the word about the site (hint hint) and some good publicity from MouseFest, those numbers will start to actually become "real" members and visitors!!!

Seems that they were "bots". The same thing happened on the 13th of September. It looks like a quarterly bot invasion

Thanx for the update, Brian. Now if we can only get all the members to post. From my crude calculations, about 73% (660) have never posted once on the site and only 38 members have over 100 posts. In addition (pun intended), I still can't figure out how 340+ members were visiting the site at one time, when 10-15 seems to be the norm. I know Lou has said something about some kind of software update going on that causes more members signed in to be listed, but could it be one of the 999 grim grinning ghosts or Stitch having some fun? That sounds more interesting that "bots."

Also there are 'Guests' that are counted in the total. Though I don't think it is that many, any user not logged in would be counted as a guest as well as those not registered.

It must have been my 626 cousins logging in.
