| The description for the Carousel of Progress video on the downloads page is: Walt Disney requested that this classic attraction never be removed from Walt Disney World - and we hope it never does as well. Follow the family through the years and through their technological growth. Being that A) The CoP wasn't moved to WDW until 1971, B) WDW didn't open until after Walt Disney died, how is that even possible? Come on people, this is the Disney World Trivia site! |

| Cedar Point New Coaster '07!! | I believe Walt said he never wanted it removed from the Parks, not specifically any park at all. |

| Gorsh...I haven't been on in a loooooong time! Ha yuck! | Walt may have had it in the plans, have you ever thought of that? We dont know EVERYTHING about Walt. Plus I agree, if it was at every Disney park, he would still not want it removed.

| WDW: A History In Postcards | I have to admit that when I have heard that "Walt said he never wanted the COP removed from the parks line" My first thought was something like "Well I'd like to see the film of that" sometimes these things get blown up a bit , one person says "I'll bet Walt never would have let the COP be removed" and the person that heard it miss-remembers it a bit later. That said, even if he did say it, he also said you can't top pigs with pigs...and then went on to make a sequel or two to the three little pigs, people say lots of things, Walt was often the agent of change in the parks, he loved trains but sure didn't remind removing the viewliner to include the monorail, I'll be if he had a really good idea for Tomorrowland he wouldn't hesitate to remove the COP, though with his vision I'd hope he'd see that perhaps a WDW museum that includes a few former attractions (including the COP) might be a good idea. I love the Carousel of Progress, but it is getting a bit dated, and the jump in time from the Halloween act to the Christmas act IV is already 50 years, I hope when they do remove it they preserve it for some future use, rather than selling stuff off to Mouse Surplus and scrap yards. I also hope that the "age of Audio-Animatronic Spectaculars" is not truly dead as Marty Sklar has said, but rather ready to experience it's own Renaissance. Another audio-animatronic attraction that is sorely missed is Horizons, you know if they took out the COP and put in a new, updated, version of Horizons in Tomorrowland I'd be up for that. |
