yeah i know i tried uploading the javascript..and when i do..when i go to log in again it just brings me to the screen saying that i need to load the javascript!

I need a few volunteers to take a look at another version of chat software. Especially needed are people who had trouble getting in to the currently being tested chat.

Update:

I have been testing a number of chat clients recently, and have just switched over to a new version of the flash chat software we had been using for quite some time.

In my research, I have also come to learn that our unfrtunate hacking incident a few months ago did not likely come from the chat client (which explains why many non-chattre sreceived emails, and some chat regulars did not). Since that time, both the chat software and the forums have been upgraded to the latest revisions, which include a number of fixes which make them both much more secure.

This client has overwhelmingly been the favorite of those that use the chat, and is the most user friendly, quick, cross-browser and operating system friendly, etc.

We're going to use this now in a testing environment for a while to further evaluate. If you have any questions or comments, please email or PM me.

As you may have seen, I have once again removed the link to the flash chat software. Please note that the removal of this link was NOT for security reasons

I have once again linked to the Java-based chat software, which has recently been updated (it is also now known as Addonchat). I highly recommend updating your Java client to the latest revision (www.java.com).


If you are having problems loading the chat room, please read the following:

If you receive this error:

java.net.UnknownHostException: www.xxxxx.com
at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.connect(Unknown Source)

Or, you see an image that looks like a small white box with a Red X in it

Or, the browser cannot display the program, and shows the error message "Loading Java Applet Failed..."

If you are having trouble running the software on your Macintosh, read the following:

Well, I got right in with no issues. The only problem that I had was I was the only one in the room! However, it is a minor problem since I talk to myself all the time anyway. I had a great conversation with myself. Everything is working great!

It will not let me in , period. It's the same page you get if you enter a wrong web address in the bar or your internet is out , the classic this page cannot be displayed ; click the refresh butoon.
