New Posts vs. Recent Posts???

Have they always both been there, I just noticed the "New Posts". When I click them both on they seem to do the same thing. Is there a difference?

If you click on Recent posts, it also lists the posts that have been replied to but not since your last visit. It's good for people like me who can't always read all the new posts in a visit, so it lets me see what the recent topics are, even though there are no current new posts to them.

Also, at one point New Posts was our only option. Eventually, Recent Posts replaced it. Now, we have both simultaneously.
