How do you change the text of a link?

I've noticed that some people are knowledgeable in more ways of the Force than I. By that I mean that while I only know how to copy a link into a thread, for example "check out the pics i posted here at www.thisaddressisfartoolongandnothardlyinteresting enoughforsomeonetoactuallywanttoclickonit.com," some of you other web-wise folk know how to transform your links into text that says whatever you want, such as "check out the pics i posted here." (By the way, those are not actual links... I'm using them as an example)

But my question is how do i get example A to turn into example B?

Visit (url=http://example.com/)this site(/url) - but use square brackets and not parens.
turns into:
Visit this site.

Hint: to see how someone did something, hit the "quote" button on their post and you'll see the code they used. You can copy and paste it if you want!

When making a new post, at the top of the posting area to the right of the font/size/color area there are a few images.

(Insert Image) This one brings up a pop up box to allow you to insert an image. Just put your photo link in the popup and voila! it shows up in your post.

(Insert Hyperlink) This one will first bring up a pop up window asking you for the text you want to display, such as "Click here for my Trip Report".... once you click OK, another window pops up asking for your link. Insert the link and click ok. That will dispaly the same way Sam has shown you but you don't have to remember the technical stuff.
