Transportation to ESPN Wide World of Sports

I read on another forum that the bus transportation from the Studios to the ESPN Wide World of Sports has or is being discontinued. I am running in the ESPN The Weekend 5K this weekend and I was planning on walking to the Studios and catching a bus to ESPN Wide World of Sports for packet pick-up. Can anyone confirm that the transportation from the Studios has (has not) been discontinued. If it has been discontinued, how do I get to the sports complex from the Beach Club?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It has been discontinued, effective today...Now you have to get to to All Stars, Pop Century, or Caribbean Beach resorts and get a bus from there to ESPN.
So your best bet from the Beach Club, in my opinion, is walk to Epcot and catch one of the above resort buses.
I am doing the Princess half, but I am at AKLV, so I would've had to take 2 buses to get to Expo anyway even if they didnt change it.

I found out today that there is still a bus from The Studios to ESPN. FYI.

How did you find that out? From everything I've read, that has been discontinued.

We caught a bus to Carribean Beach and then to ESPN for packet pick up. When we went to the bus stop for Carribean Beach we noticed a sign a sign for Hollywood Studios. We asked a cast member and she said there is a bus going to The Studios every 20 min. We took the Studios bus. Nice!

I am doing the D23 event and the 5K so finally decided to rent a car. The transportation logistics to get over to ESPN WWS was too onerous!

Every forum that I saw as well as a cast member at my resort said there was no bus transportation from Hollywood Studios to ESPN WWOS complex. We stayed at the Beach Club Villas and a cast member told us to catch a bus from EPCOT or Hollywood to the Carribean Beach resort and that a WWOS bus would pick us up from the Carribean Beach resort. We walked to Hollywood . . . got a bus to the Carribean Beach resort . . . picked-up our ESPN The Weekend 5K race packet from WWOS . . . so when we left WWOS, we happened to ask a cast member if there was a bus going to Hollywood Studios . . . the answer yes. When the bus arrived at WWOS to take us to Hollywood Studios, there were people who exited the bus. When we got to Hollywood, sure enough there was a sign for WWOS. Go figure. I don't know how long this will last, but the bus was running as of last Friday (2/26/10).

Yes, the transportation was very confusing.

You were right, thats how we got to the expo, took a bus from DHS...One bus driver I spoke to said Saturday was the last day for that service...Who knows?

It's good to know that WDW was still had bus service from DHS to WWOS at least through the Princess 1/2 Marathon weekend. Hopefully they'll continue to have service for special events like the marathon weekends, etc.

I think if they are trying to promote ESPN WWOS, there should be a better system for bus service to and from WWOS. You should not have to travel to two bus locations to get to WWOS. Hopefully over time it will get better.
