I'm 14, and for the past three years my parents and I have ridden in the front of the monorail, and all three of us have always gotten the co-pilot licenses. If only I could find the rest of them though...
By the way- My memory seems to have escaped me- How many people can fit in the front of the monorail? We usually go as just the three of us, but three more people are going this time and I'm wondering who we're gonna have to kick out lol
Thanks!

Hi! i am the same as you and my family has ridden in the front too. I have got those co-pilot liscense. I believe that only four ppl can fit in the front bc my family is a family of four and nobody else has ridden up front with us before..Hope that answers ur question!

Hey! You play VMK too..AWESOME! lol what costumes do u have and other stuff? maybe we can meet in VMk!

My family and myself rode the monorail front car twice on this past trip. Actually - I asked and my sister, brother-in-law, and 2 nieces rode one time. I was upset and in tears because I wanted to ride with them and I had asked but they would only allow 4 people at a time. (this was a dream for me to complete on my Disney dream list that I made a few years ago - hence being emotional). The next day my husband, mom, and oldest niece were able to ride. We all got pilot cards as we got off. The ride was FANTATSIC! Something I would definately ask to do again!
The driver we had told us he didn't expect Disney to add any new monorail systems presently unless the cost of bus transportation continues to rise. He said the cost now is approximately 3 million a mile to build new monorail tracks. He was a GREAT driver! He left his job to go to Disney because he loves the Disney business philosphy!

With gas issues, I see another monorail path in the near future.

Yes, 4 passengers can ride with the monorail pilots. I have ridden up front, but had to ask for the co-pilots license.
Once, we were also told that the certain monorail we were on was a dedicated Polynesian Resort cab, so if people were waiting there to ride up front, we had to get off. It wasn't a problem, as that was where we were going.
Nothing to countdown to, so just smile and be happy everyday!

back in the day, they used to let up to 6 ppl ride it...ahhh the good ol' days!

Anybody know how I can get a wav. file or MP3 file of the current monorail spiel?

I haven't gotten a chance to ride up in the front because everytime I try to, someone else gets there first. I am going to try with my grandma when I go in August.

If you try riding at an "Off time" when it's not first thing in the am or as the parks are closing, you might have a better chance.
Good luck!

Riding up front is fun! I have done it so many times when I have been there with my Nana & Papa. I remember when I was little that I would have to get on my knees to see out, and that the "Pilot" would give me a Co-Pilot License.
-
I want to ride up front for my birthday, my dad and I are making a special trip to MK from Epcot that day just so we can ride POTC and the Monorail.
-
Yeah, probably. I've never heard of adults receiving them. I'f you really wanted one I suppose you could ask...
