    Making friends at Disney

    Has anyone ever met someone at Disney and then became friends with them after you left?

    While waiting in line for Tower of Terror, my friends and I started chatting with a Japanese family. It was slow going and my best friend had to do alot of translating, but it was fun.
    We ended up running into them again that week and we exchanged info and kept in touch after Disney was over.
    And then when my best friend went to Japan the next year, she ended up staying at their house for the two weeks. Great fun.
    Disney Trips
    May 1994- WDW (off property)
    May 1997- WDW (off property)
    March 2001- WDW (off property)
    May 2006- Disneyland (off property)
    September 2010- WDW (POFQ)
    October 2012 - Wedding and Honeymoon! - WDW (POR)

    What a touching story! It's amazing how WDW can promote global unity! As for actually making friends at WDW, I have not, but we all like WDW here, and we're all friends, right?

    I think people have a higher chance of meeting friends on a Disney Cruise, or any cruise line really. Normally you spend several days together, usually over dinner, getting to know each other.

    Whereas the parks,you strike up convos waiting for a show or in line....but once the ride or show is over, that seems to be it.

    I have not made friends at WDW but I have made some wonderful friends from people I met in Disney chats and on newsgroups and boards like this.

    One of my best friends I met in a Disney chat room, I think you know him...goes by Tiggerguy Brian and I have become great friends over the last 5-6 yrs, he even came to my college graduation in May...he lives in another state now thats a friend

    didn't really make friends, but had a blast. wife and i were having sushi, in Epcot Japan, and there were two guys and a girl sitting next to us. we struck up a conversation and turned out they were Norwegian, and had just started working in Epcot Norway about a week earlier. it was one of the highlights of the trip, lots of great conversation.

    after dinner, the five of us stuck together to watch Illuminations.

    they even taught me some profanities in norwegian. LOL

    if i can remember, i have a pic of them with my wife, i'll have to post it.
