I went this morning to see if they were letting people in because I saw a CM in a Soarin costume yesterday. Once I saw that they weren't letting people in we headed over to MGM because I knew for sure they were doing showings of the new STunt Show. It was awsome and I will post some pics tomorrw, but it just gets to me that I went looking for Soarin at Epcot and it was opened after I left!!!! And now I am back in Jacksonville!

If anybody else has been on Soarin. Please let me know if a child that is frightend very easily would be comfortable on this ride (child is 8) she doesn't like lound noises or the dark and she doesn't cry. We are going back this october just her, her sister (she 11) and myself and we would like to try this out. But if it overwhelming I afraid she will be scare to death just from the height alone. Like I said she won't cry she will just cover her eyes and I think it unfair to make her get on a ride that might scare her and then again it not fair to her sister who wants to really try this out and who won't go on by herself. I really need some advice on this one. If anybody else has been on it yet please give more detail and I will go from that. Also does anybody know if sorain is on the new disney vaction video that they put every year? If it is I will have her look at that and prepare her that way if I can. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's definately NOT scary. The only part that takes place in the dark is when it takes off and when it lands, but even then you can still see a little bit of light. There aren't any loud noises that would frighten a child. The audio is a bit loud but there's nothing that would scare her except possibly the fireworks at the end. Has she ever seen fireworks? There is one loud boom from one of the very last fireworks. I think your daughter would be fine to go on it. Yesterday, I went on it again and I sat next to a 6 year old boy. This was his very first ride to EVER go on and he was terrified, but I heard him giggling and laughing throughout the entire thing.

You can ask to be seated in the third row which barely lifts you off the ground which may be best for your daughter.

Also I have heard that soarin' IS on the new vacation video. I have not seen it but I remember hearing from one of my friends that soarin' is on it.

If your child does close her eyes she won't be able to feel a thing so if she does get scared this is one of the better rides that won't make her sick and whatnot. I would recommend doing it because it is a great family ride. Also you will be sitting right next to her and the smells tend to distract the little ones. :-) But that's just my opinion. If you talk to the CM they can also advise you whether or not to ride when you're here.

Thanks so much I will order our video and maybe if she see it will be okay and to answer your questions she really does not like firework due to the loud banging and the backfire. So maybe that part might get to her a little bit. I know my child she'll probaly just cover her. Also that's good if we are sitting right by her because if it get to much she'll probaly just put her head on my shoulder. Thanks for the help.

Would I get sick? I kind of get motion sickness and stuff.

Also is this ride going to be there forever or is this just for the 50 year celebration?
