Girls Week Away!

I'm leaving tomorrow for Disney World with my three best girlfriends! We're leaving the men at home and spending 6 days at the Pop Century. We'll have one day in each park, one complete day of shopping at Downtown Disney, and our very first character breakfast. I'm so exicted! I'm sure there will be plenty to write about when I get back.

Which character breakfast are you going to? Maybe I will see you in the parks (but that's super slim because I'm global)!

Oh wow I would love to be able to do a girlfriend trip. It would be so much fun. Problem is, all of my girlfriends and I have children, and if we went to Disney without them, we'd come home to unhappy kids.

Have a great time. I've tried to figure out how my niece has come three times without her kids who are definitely old enough to know where she is going. I think she may have run out of "stories" though because her boys are starting to ask when it's their turn.

We're going to Cape May Cafe. I've heard it's very good. Maybe we will see each other, although I'm not sure if I'd know who you are.

My friends and I are all unmarried and have no children, so that's how we can get away with this...we're still in our early twenties, so kids are a LONG way away!

That's funny. Because I will be working at Cape May on Wednesday. You will have to let me know if you were there that day. I'm there in the morning 'til noon. Let me know! Hope you have a fun trip anyway.

We actually went to Cape May on Thursday. That would have been fun if I had seen you, but oh well. It was a great breakfast!

So I'm back from my Disney vacation now and it was FABULOUS! I don't have the patience to write an entire trip report in one day, so I'll do a little bit at a time.

Day 1: Downtown Disney
We woke up very early in the morning to catch a 7:00 am flight out of New Orleans. We landed in Disney, caught the Magical Express bus, and headed for the Pop Century. Our room was in the 50's building.

By the time we got to the hotel and settled in, it was lunch time, so we ate in the food court before going to Downtown Disney. We were ready to shop till we dropped!

We hit a few of the smaller shops first without buying much. I probably could have bought out an entire store because I loved pretty much everything I saw, but I didn't want to spend too much money since we hadn't even gone to the parks yet. So, eventually we made our way to the Ghirardelli store and couldn't resist the delicious tempting chocolate.

On the left is Sarah, and then Becky and Jaime again. I took this picture... so now you know who all of us are!
Sarah and I shared chocolate ice cream, Becky had the hot chocolate which tasted like warm brownie batter (it was SO good) and Jaime had a milkshake.
After we finished stuffing our faces, it was really time to shop! We went into every store we could find... I think we stayed in the World of Disney for an hour. It's huge! We went to the lego store and then headed over to the Pleasure Island area. Eventually we got hungry again and had dinner at T-Rex. This place has some of the best theming I've seen in a restaurant. Our room was in the Ice Age, so everything was in blue light. Every now and then a meteor shower would hit, and everything would flash red. It was a lot of fun and the food was excellent.
After dinner, we shopped a little bit more and then took the bus over to the Boardwalk to shop over there. I bought some really cute Mickey Mouse undies. When we finished shopping, we went back to the hotel, played cards, and went to bed early to get ready for our big Disney Week!
