Another Christmas in Disney!
As of last night, I am officially going to Disney World in December!
I made my reservations last night for the Coronado Springs/All Star Sports Resorts for December 10-15. I'll be traveling with my best friend, Blair. This year we're both 21 so it should be interesting! :)
Here's how the trip looks so far:
December 10: depart from New Orleans, check-in at Coronado Springs, shop at Downtown Disney, dinner at Sanaa
December 11: EPCOT until 12:30 am! Check out of Coronado and check in to All Star, dinner at Tutto Italia
December 12: Animal Kingdom, lunch at Yak & Yeti, perhaps some resort-hopping at night.
December 13: Hollywood Studios, dinner at Sci-Fi Dine in Theatre
December 14: Magic Kingdom, dinner at Crystal Palace
December 15: Breakfast at Cape May Cafe, and back to the Big Easy :(
I'm so excited!
Re: Another Christmas in Disney!
Sounds great, have a fun trip.
Re: Another Christmas in Disney!
I am so jealous of you! I wish I was going! Have a great time and have fun!
Re: Another Christmas in Disney!
Wow, Bety, that is so cool. Glad you get to go for Christmas
Re: Another Christmas in Disney!
Thanks everyone, I'm pretty excited too!
I love that it was such a last-minute decision. This is literally how it happened:
Blair- I miss Disney World. I want to go back
Me- Let's go sometime.
Blair- Let's go for Christmas
Me- Okay!!
And then we started planning. Of course, planning was a little difficult because we're only two months out, but it's worth the trouble. :)
Re: Another Christmas in Disney!
A big part of our trip this year will be eating/drinking around the world. On our Epcot day, the hours are 9am-12:30am. We'll be spending the majority of that time in the world showcase. I would love any suggestions that you all have for things to eat/drink in all the countries, especially things that are super traditional. I'm interested in food, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages as well. Thanks! :)
Re: Another Christmas in Disney!
We will be there at the same time! MVMCP on Dec 10!
Re: Another Christmas in Disney!
Awesome!
Unfortunately, we can't afford MVMCP this year, but we'll still have a great time.
I hope you enjoy it :)
Re: Another Christmas in Disney!
I'm back from my trip!
Soon I'll start making posts telling all about it for those of you who are interested.
It was wonderful and I can't wait for my next trip, whenever that may be. :)
Re: Another Christmas in Disney!
Let's get this trip report started! :)
Day one:
We woke up bright and early to get dressed and head to the airport for our 8:00 am flight out of New Orleans. Everything at the airport went smoothly and the first part of the flight was fine too, until we got near Orlando. There was a storm system looming over a large part of the gulf of Mexico and the turbulence was horrible! It literally felt like we were falling out of the sky at some points because most of the turbulence happened while we were already starting to make our descent. I spent about the last half of the flight praying and trying to keep from having a panic attack because OF COURSE I left my Xanax at home.
Finally we landed in Orlando and I've never been so happy to see an airport in my life. We waited in line for about 20 minutes for our Magical Express bus and then we were off to the World!
After a relaxing ride on the bus to calm our nerves, we arrived at the Coronado Springs Resort. Our room wasn't ready yet so we put our luggage in the storage room and had some lunch in the pepper market. I had nachos with all kinds of stuff on them and they were yummy!
Next we went to Downtown Disney. We shopped and took pictures and whatnot until it started to drizzle, and then we headed back to the hotel. We got to the room, had our luggage delivered, made coffee, played cards, and generally relaxed for a few hours. Then we got dressed and headed over to Sanaa for dinner.
Sanaa was AMAZING! I had Chardonnay from South Africa which was some of the best Chardonnay I've ever had. For dinner I ate tandoori chicken in a red curry, five-grain rice pilaf, and 30-hour slow roasted beef short ribs in a gravy infused with cinnamon and cloves. And oh my goodness I ate until I was about to pop. The food was absolutely delicious. We got back to the hotel relatively early, made the nightly phone calls home, and then went to bed to get ready for our first day at the parks!
