01/28/10 5 Hours only @ WDW

I delivered a load just outside Disney and decided to sneak in for a quick fix till my wife and mines week in May.
I parked the rig in my usual spot in front of Epcot were the WDW buses load and offload guests. I literally walked on to SSE as well as single rider Test Track. The wait time for Soarin was 20 minutes and I wanted to see if I could get in to 2 parks & DD in the 5 hours I had.
So I decided to catch the monorail to TTC and catch the MK monorail. I walked down Main Street and headed off into Adventure land. As a note I had intended to see if I could sit one at Crystal Palace because I've never ate before but it was being refurbed and closed. (First Bummer)
I then passed Jungle cruise (20 min wait) and headed off to POTC. Walked right in and on to the boat with a row all to myself. Davey Jones was not working when I went through.
After leaving there I was going to do the mountains but Bummer # 2..Splash Mountain closed for refurb.
Bummer # 3 was 40 min wait for Thunder Mtn. Oh well off to Haunted Mansion. 5 min wait and even hung around to hear the gargoyles in the elevator before heading to the Doom Buggies.
I was starving since I hadn't eaten since 5 AM and Pecos Bill was smelling real good but I was going to hold out for Rain Forest for some Ribs and Shrimp at DD. So I headed to SM and was a 40 min wait so I did Buzz a and the TTA (ughh they really messed that up) We did pass through SM on the TTA and was surprised it wasn't as dark as I was made out to believe.
So I headed out the park and had to go to a resort to catch a bus to DD.
A cast member by the buses said I should go to Wilderness lodge seeing that its real close and catch a bus from there. I left MK at 6 pm. Got to Wilderness Lodge @ 620 and sat there till 7 then they decided we should go to GF and the Poly before heading to DD. We got there promptly at 7:30 pm. So I headed straight to Rain Forest and they said be around 50 min wait. Didn't eat Bummer 4!!
So I got back on the bus and rode to the other end and heard that Dominic was back playing in front of the balloon and the Ice Cream shop. I had a banana split and giant pretzel. I went a danced to the New Year party (?) that they have nitely with the line dance (I really missed my girls for that.seeing we just did it in Nov and will probably never happen again since they youngest just got married and life is moving on)
So I went back to the Ice Cream shop and chatted a good while with Dominic while he was on break about guitars. I bought a few cds from him.
So caught the bus back to Epcot after SSR bus change and slept for 5 hrs and heading out Orlando for home at 1 am.
Quick fix till May and got to chat with Dominic for awhile so it was all good.
If you get a chance to hear him play and talk with him, he's another free gem Disney offers.

Sorry about all the bummers but it's really cool you got to get your fix! I wish I could do that!

I'll be in Orlando on buisiness in late March and I usually spend my evenings in DTD. I have heard there are discounted tickets for some of the theme parks after 4pm for solo travelers but I can't seem to find out any more about them. Anybody have any info? We're heading down as a family in late April and I'd like to do some advance scouting of what's new since last year.

Wonder if it's too late to "give a day, get a day"?

It was a good 5 hrs no doubt. The WL deal though reminds me when we got stuck over there a couple years ago after the Luau at the Poly that I posted on another thread. Point is don't use WL as a connection point I guess. Seems like Pop or TTA be better ...
I thought the discounted tickets were for guests attending conventions there and guests staing on property there. I might be wrong because I remember hearing it on another site. I think it was on Matts site at WDW today.

cool.. where my hubby is with a group staying there.. i wonder if that means he will get discounted afternoon tickets..? where is this info your speaking of.. i wanna read it
