Pre Trip/Wedding/Honeymoon thread

I finally have a few minutes spare to sit down and begin a pre-trip for our Oct 2010 Vacation-Celebration.

We will be travelling from the UK to spend just over 2 weeks in Florida where we will get married and have what i hope will be an amazing time with friends and family.

So where to begin?? Well, the friends and family we KNOW will be there are, Me (fiona), Chris (who i will be marrying), Jay (our son), Alex (our son), Nan (my mum), Caroline, Kerry & her man, Meg & DS, Gae & DD, Virginia & DH, my dad and his GF. There are others invited but its too far out for everyone to know if they can make it yet, hopefully more names will be added to the list. I am still holding out hope that my sister and her family will be added to the list but we need to win the lottery or plan a bank robbery for that i think.

Our wedding is not going to follow the normal pattern of events, partly because we dont feel the need to do what other people expect, and partly coz its going to be that way we want it, and that isnt practical to combine with tradition!
The wedding and the wedding meal will be on different days (odd maybe, but 2 excuses to have fun). We will be getting married on a beach on the hopefully oil free Gulf Coast in an evening ceremony performed by the wonderful Meg. I cannot begin to explain how wonderful it is to know someone i love like family will be doing something so special for us! And then a few days later once we have started our honeymoon we will be having our celebration meal at 'Ohana in WDW.
I visited Clearwater when i was about 16 for the 1st time and i dont think i have ever been to a place as beautiful, so it felt like a natural choice to return there to get married. Although i know the place will have changed in the last 18 years, i already have the feeling that i am going back to where I belong for the most special day or our lives. We have 5 nights at an amazing hotel on Sand Key where will will do some of the tourist bits like Busch Gardens and Clearwater Marine Aquarium, but also just take some time to relax, adjust time zones and GET MARRIED!!! Then we have 11 nights at Port Orleans Riverside for the honeymoon part of the vacation.
ADR's are done, a wedding cake has been ordered from the GF bakery, so its starting to feel like its getting organised.

I'll keep this thread updated as more plans get sorted and more crazy ideas are thought of!

I have my dress, I am good to go! Still have to narrow down the footwear. At least the bride has hers sorted out!

I have the greatest footwear, it travelled all the way over the Atlantic to get to me, just so it can fly all the way back in my suitcase, how special is that!!!!!

just as long as your dress doesnt look nicer than mine kerry!! Oh, i could be a bridezilla if i try........oh i cant be bothered!! We will all look wonderful, we will be a big family all together, thats PERFECT!!

Sooooo excited! So much to do and plan but whatever happens I get to spend time with my sisters at our place! Can't wait for a huge group snuggle!

What banners are you planning on making this trip Meg! (so sad I did not get to bring mine home, think it got mislaid in all the excitement. You will have to make a flat Deb(again!..hope she does not go walkabout this trip!) and a flat Sarah please.
