Rick's Nov 7th trip report

Hi Folks,

Just got back from a week at the World. We had a great time despite not some great weather. Tuesday was 20% chance of rain. It rain pretty much all day and hard at times. Friday and Saturday was cool to cold.

First time at Pop Century and it was great. We were in building 4 (60s) fourth floor facing the Lake (very close to main building, cut down walking on tired feet). We got to see the fireworks from EPCOT and MK if we didn't see it in the parks. Took many rides on POTC and HM. I have pictures of HM's former graveyard (big dirt pile) I took from the Liberty Belle Riverboat. Not my favorite ride but IASW was nice and clean and you really don't hear the music until you get to the dolls. Overall I thought the parks were cleaner than when went in 2007 and 2008. Saturday we finally got to see Walt Disney's One man's dream attraction. My son's favorite thing to do. He is 12 yrs old and he reads and studies each and every thing in there. In fact we stop reading to watch the movie and then went back in to finish. One thing missing in there is the passing of Walt with the sad characters. The only mention of Walt passing is Roy's speech of opening WDW. We did testrack about 5 times, Soaring about 3 times. Buses we always on time and quickly there when we were ready to go somewhere else. The only exception is we walked from the Transportation and Ticket center to the polynesian resort to get to DTD. Funny how a resort had longer waits than Pop. The Magical Express from the airport Pop is the first drop off and the last pick up which makes getting to and from the airport nice and quick. Space Mountain had better seats and it was much darker and more fun.

The Carrot Cake Cookies in the Writes Stop was FANTASTIC, Guarantee each time we go to the World that will be a must treat. The only problem with the Writers Stop is the service was very SLOW.

I have about 731 new photos even after deleting some bad shots. I post some later must likely will put them on flickr.

I thank you for reading this far. Just wanted to let everyone know we had a blast and can't wait go back. We brought home 14 chocolate coated crispy rice treats. All with unused snack credits about $50 worth. LOL, all on the free dinning plan, a Win Win

LOL, I want to be in Florida full time. Plan to move down there one day. I was talking to a lady in POTC store and she works there 40 hrs per a year. That sounds great to me. I am 46 yrs young and very tired of the cold and snow.


One thing cool about last week was we got to see the halloween decorations and Christmas decorations at MK and on Main Street USA.

I live in Florida and I love it. NJ was OK, but Florida makes it seem like @#$%^. No state tax, you can own guns without a hassle, great weather,,,and WDW is a so close. What more could you want?

Many thanks, Awesome that your kids are in the MK parade, have LOTS of fun with that. My camera is just a Nikon Coolpix p-100. Someday I hope to get a DSLR, but knowing the limits of the camera and taking lots of pictures is the best way to get some nice shots. One thing that is really nice is the moveable display. I was able to fold it down to me and hold the camera above everyone to take the parade pictures. I wish I had a tripod with me for the fireworks pictures they would of been much sharper. I was trying to hold the camera still for 4 secs. I folded the display up and had it against my stomach trying not to move or breathe, sometimes it works ok other not so much.Oh I had the strap around my neck pushing down on the camera and strap to help keep it somewhat steady.

P.S. I did cheat a little on some of the pictures and used Adobe Camera raw to get the pictures to pop. Its easy to see which ones by the filename ending with "a" before the .jpg
